We were pretty set on gifts for eachother. I picked out diamond studs and he picked out a brown leather baume and mercier watch. Now that we’re less than two months out, we decided to nix the gift exchange and use the 6K we would’ve spent towards home renovations when we find one. We live in an extremely expensive area in NJ so we will definitely need cash to renovate a house since something move in ready is out of our price range.. if you have the funds, I say do it! We are just exchanging cards the day of and like the idea better.. Do whatever works for you guys 🙂

We are exchanging gifts. My Fiance is a gun enthusiast, so I got him a pistol with our names & wedding date engraved on it. I’m not 100% sure what he got me, but I have a feeling it’s a necklace. I know he wanted something I could wear on the wedding day, and he knows I already had a bracelet and earrings. I know my mom helped him pick it out because he wanted to make sure it was something I would like.
We still haven’t decided how or when we will give each other the gifts. We don’t want to see each other before the wedding, so I’m guessing we will have a groomsman/bridesmad take the gifts to each other, and will have our videographer with us so that we will get to see each others reactions at a later point.

kaylilly27 : That is exactly the sentiment I have about it. I wanted one last time to buy him something that was just from his fiancée that he could have and remember our wedding day with! He’s struggling with what to purchase for me, but I am sure he will ultimately come up with something great. He is wonderful at gift giving and just needs me to take the pressure off and remind him that I have loved everything he has ever done for me. This will be no different!
Thanks you to everyone who responded with all the great ideas and and sharing your gifts! So cool to see the various answers.

Before I started wedding planning I was 100% sure that we would give each other wedding gifts.
Now that we are in the weeds of planning and writing out checks, I don’t think the grand/pricey gifts we wanted to are going to work. I think we’re happy just having the wedding we want and the honeymoon we want.
