That depends largely on your dress. But as a wedding dress is already high-impact (obviously) I would err on the side of less jewelry. I think a necklace is almost always too much (and would detract from a pretty neckline or dress bodice). I think in almost any case I would recommend just earrings and a hairpiece and (maybe) a brooch. Exceptions always made for sentimental jewelry.

For pretty but not over the top, I would be looking more towards pearls and less towards crystals. Crystals can be fine too; this is just a rule of thumb.

I know I’ll wear this necklace and earring set but I haven’t chosen which bracelet out of these to go with yet. I can’t wait to see what jewelry you decide to wear 😀

My dress is so detailed and sparkly that I just plan on wearing some simple earrings and my engagement ring! I will likely have something in my hair as well, I just need to find the right accessory.

Sorry the pics are so huge!

I wore this ring that belonged to my great grandma, along with this necklace. I just realized I don’t have any pictures of my earrings, and I actually misplaced them on our honeymoon. They were similar to these, but with different shades of purple, blue, and green. My hair was down so no one really saw them, but they were just really “me” and I had to have them. Plus, purple was one of our wedding colors, so it worked.

I wore a necklace my DH had made for me as my wedding gift, custom made earrings he gifted me two Christmas’s ago and a Tiffany and Co cuff my girls surprised me with at my bachelorette/spa day dinner..

I’m wearing these earrings:

pearl rose gold earrings

And a simple pearl strand neckalce. I disagree that a necklace is too much with a wedding dress. I think that, especially with a strapless dress, a necklace can complete the outfit very nicely. But you should go with your own taste and preferences!

Sorry for the enormous pictures. I’m going with a classic pearl set with a bit of sparkle. My dress is very 1940s hollywood glam, champagne silk. I’ll either buy them myself or FH has said he’d like to gift them to me, so we’ll see.

I picked understated sapphire & diamond earrings for my something blue. They were a splurge but my dress was deeply discounted so it evened out, and I’m excited to have another piece of fine jewelry I can wear for special occassions and hopefully pass down eventually. Otherwise I’ll probabaly just wear my e-ring, possibly a vintage rhinestone bracelet, and a hair comb.

ktrv927 :  If you provided us with some info about your dress, we could definitely help with accessories recommendations. They go hand in hand.

I personally wore a combo of pearls & rhinestone jewelry. Pearls scream bridal to me, and I wanted to incorporate the earrings that my mother was married in for my something borrowed

I agree with others. Your dress is very important in order to choose your jewelery. I knew that I was going to wear a diamond necklace and earring set which has been passing down through generations from my mother’s side. So I chose my dress according to my jewelery. There was no way of wearing a v-neck dress with that set. My dress had to have an open chest.

I’m wearing pearl studs with accent diamond and a tin cup pearl necklace. Keeping it very simple, but my dress is simple too.

I just wore earrings and 3 small bracelets my Maid/Matron of Honor loaned to me that she wore on her wedding day!
