Hi Bee! I love Bite! I wear beetroot too and a few other colors.  To me, Bite has the most moisturing long wear lipstick.  I imagine you’ll have to reply once or twice thoughtout the day but thats not much, considering you’ll be eating, drinking, talking, and smiling for 6 + hours.  If you want a more matte lip color, you should try Sephoras Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick.  Its like $14 and just as good as products $30.  It is more matte so not as moisturings as Bite.  As for a kiss test, Sephora does not transfer to my Boyfriend or Best Friend..

tz2017 :  I know I’ve tested MAC (like in the store) but I clearly wasn’t driven to buy any of them.. maybe as for a test?

I don’t know anything about lipstick but I used a NARS one – Satin Tolede. I really liked it, I have very dry lips and it wasn’t drying like some. It didn’t go all crack-y. It also didn’t come off on my Darling Husband when we did the kiss! I did reapply at the reception (I had a little bag with lippy, chapstick, panadol etc that one of my bridesmaids made sure got to me at the reception).

I don’t have experience with MAC but I love lipstains.  If that is the kind that your makeup artist uses, I’d buy one and wear it all day and see how you like it.  If you don’t like it, could you buy her one to use on you that you like?

I’m wearing my signature shade in the Kat Von D everlasting liquid lip. I wear it all the time and unless I eat something greasy it’s a set it and forget it lipstick. I’ve also had good luck with maybelline 24 hour liquid lipstick as well. Normally if you’re going for a liquid lipstick they don’t recommend a lip liner. If you go for a normal lipstick a lip liner is a must. Either way make sure you have your lipstick with you for touch ups.

LipSense! It’s long lasting – 7-10 hours!

tz2017 :  hi there. Makeup artist since 2004 here. And I use MAC products and a slew of other ones (I also worked for them for a few years).

When I do brides, I have always used the pro longerwear – top coat and clear coat- the clear coat comes off and fits in a pocket and is the only thing that needs to be re-applied.

OR their creme colour pencil as a base (it’s waterproof) topped with a VIVA Glam lipstick. The Pam Anderson one (I think its Viva Glam V) is always a knock out.

But I’m usually still at the weddings and can touch up if needed.

If you don’t want to touch up, go for pro-longwear. They have these at the drugstore too (Revlon makes good products) that you can buy and try out on the weekends.

Good luck 🙂

You should definitely look in to Lipsense!  It is an amazing product that offers anywhere from 4-12 hours of wear, depending on your body PH, and has a guarantee!

Everyone I know who has tried lipsense has loved it,  so I’ll splurge and buy it for the wedding.  I was told the removed is a waste of money and that alcohol is good enough.

I wore Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Colour but I’ve since discovered Lipstick Queen and their Frog Prince lipstick lasts longer than any others I’ve ever used.

anabolina :  I have tried it. Hated it. (It was gifted to me, I would never buy a product sold via MLM)

OP, I enjoy MAC lipstick, I wear it to work daily and never touch up. I am very good at not licking my lips though, and blot the excess off.

OP, I love Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink, I only have to reapply if I eat a sandwich/wrap/tacos type thing for lunch. They just launched a few new colors, more nude colors. I use the color LOVER for my “nude” look, its a muted pink and looks natural on me. It is weird to apply, it took me a few times before I got it. Also, make sure you let it dry before touching anything to your lips (like a straw or coffee) and if you do, it literally doesn’t move. I don’t think this is as drying as some other long lasting ones i’ve tried either.

Ooh, I’ve had Sephora Cream Lip Stain (01 Always Red) on for 11 hours now. I ate an apple, had pot roast for lunch, and many snacks, and it’s still holding on strong and looks great. Plus, it’s only $14 and you can easily return it if you don’t like it.
