I think the liner looks fine. I don’t see what the problem is there really. However, I agree that the brows should be darker. I also think the red lips overpower you.

@Sugar_and_Spice: you are pretty! nice wedding style theme and good application. if this is your inspiration these are my recs:

– only use liner on the bottom to dot between outermost lashes between outside ends and where your eye color starts when looking forward, or i would try a grey eyeshadow on a tiny flat brush to highlight that lash line gently as it looks in the inspiration photos. you could get the brush wet first so the shadow works more like eyeliner

– on the top I would line it thinly, and start thickening the line slightly starting at just past your pupils (when looking straight ahead) to just beyond the outer edge like you have it now

-compare the shades of the second pic of ‘joan’ lol i think her shades of lipstick and blush match each other and her hair by having a slightly peachy-orangey tone. the first pic shows a matching paler pink blush/lipstick combo which i think works because it doesn’t fight w her hair color. i would consider trying to match one of these color schemes.

-i would consider a softly shiny lip stain vs a glossy stick

-if you really wanna be fun 1920s glamour i would get soft feathery fake lashes for the top! pic one inspiration pic seems def like falsies to me! could be done all across top or on outer lashes

-would fill in eyebrows gently w a brush and powder or pencil done w feathery strokes

-i like the hair style in the 1st inspir. pic, i think that would be a nice option!

you’ll look gorg no matter what!

*ETA haha i’m an idiot, thought it was for make up help doing it yourself for some reason lol. so whatever i won’t delete everything cuz you’ll get what i’m saying for your MUA. haha 🙂

I think your eyebrows definitely need to be a bit darker, the top liner should be thinner, and you shouldn’t wear any bottom eyeliner at all. You should only have one “pop” for your make up: eyes or lips, not both. Play down the eyes by removing some of the liner, and then your lips will look awesome!

@Sugar_and_Spice:  I agree with you…less liner, darker brows and no gloss on your lips.  While striking, red lips are a pain in the butt.  You may want to look into a stain as opposed to this glossy formula for your lips.  I like the marker kind because they really last all day and do not kiss off on anyone.

@Sugar_and_Spice:  oh, and have her use shaddow on the bottom instead of pencil.  As you can see from Christina’s pictures, she does not have any harsh lines…this is due to the makeup artist using a lighter shadow (like a bronzer, or something plummy) to subtly define her lower last line.  They likely used a bullet brush with a shade like MAC Quarry (1st pic) or MAC Woodwinked (2nd pic).  This draws the eyes upward.  I really like the 1st pic over the 2nd (of Christina).  The softer lip suits her.  A shade like Chanel Boy would be good with your coloring.

I know a lot of people have said the lip color, what about something more pink? Like this..

I would suggest a much lighter eyeliner color on bottom, perhaps a taupe or brown. I’m also a fair, freckled readhead, and I line my top lashes with black or dark brown, and use a taupe eyeliner on my bottom lashes. In your inspiration photos of Christina Hendrix, she has little (if any) eyeliner on the bottom, so all you see are her lashes.  The eyeliner on your eyes is making them appear smaller, which you don’t want!  I agree with darker eyebrows, they will frame your face!  And I love the red lip!  Do you have on false eyelashes here?

I think you look GREAT but I think you should decide if you want the dramatic eyes or lip color (Personally – I’d choose eyes – they look wonderful and will last longer. Lipstick comes off!) Both is a bit much. I’d go with a matte, more neutral color (like the Emma Stone pic, or the first Christina Hendrick photo you posted). And definitely slightly darken the brow!

I love the blush and the eye liner! I agree that the brows need to be a bit darker and I also agree that the red lip is a little much. What about a plum color? I just think the lips grab too much attention, but if that’s what you want, then you got it!
