I’m not married yet, but if my iPhone tracker is anywhere near correct (which it’s not. I have whacked out cycles), I’m forecast to have mine during that time. And man, that would SUCK.

Not married yet either. My OBGYN has recommended me to just skip my period by taking my BC pill pack continuously (back to back). So I really hope to avoid it! I don’t want to be on my period during the honeymoon either!

I was afraid it would happen so my OBGYN suggested that I take seasonale. It’s the pill that only let’s you get your period 4 times a year. So I started taking it a month before the wedding and was clear all the way through the honeymoon and the holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

With the pills I’m on, if I skip the placebo week I only have a period four times a year (doc told me to do this, so it’s okay, haha).  And my wedding day proceeded without the red sea parting!

I am getting married 7/9/11 and just went off BC for a few reasons:

    1) we are planning to start TTC a month after the wedding so I thought it would be best to give my cycle a few months to regulate itself

    2) i have been on BC for over 10 years and am freaking out about what it has done to my body

anyhow, i have an irregular period and (with my luck) will probably have my period on the wedding day and/or honeymoon.  however, i am choosing to not worry about it.  i figure that cramps/PMS will be masked by the nerves and excitement of the wedding!  as far as intimacy is considered (WARNING: possible Too Much Information ahead), my period has never bothered my Fiance and we have already talked about the possibility of it occuring on our honeymoon… it won’t hold us back : )

@Future Frett: Your situation is almost identical to mine. I have PCOS and because of fertility issues, I’ve been off BC to track my ‘regular’ cycle for the past nearly two years. I miss the convenience of skipping, but I don’t want to go back to square one – so if it happens, it happens. I’m just hoping it won’t! ๐Ÿ™‚

@April_Fools_Bride: Lol, yes it was a huge fear of mine and I’m so glad it didn’t happen! I believe it’s called Desogen; I ran out last night, so I have to go get more tomorrow. I was on Ortho Lo for awhile but I am a terrible, terrible force while on my period and it needed to stop, haha!

I was going to start taking bc earlier in the year so I could just run packs together but I decided with my fertility already in doubt I didn’t want to mess with it anymore than I had to. Luckily for me I had some pretty strong indications that it was coming so I went to my doctor who prescribed Tranexamic Acid and sure enough the day before the wedding it came. The tablets really helped and although I definitely wouldn’t want to do it again it really wasn’t that bad. Plus it meant I wasn’t freaking out about getting it on our honeymoon, which I think would have been totally worse.

@April_Fools_Bride: Maybe you’ll be a little off? I’m hoping for you. The ‘bridal stress’ could push it off juuuust enough ๐Ÿ˜›
