- Wedding: July 2010
So I finally have time and energy to write this recap 🙂
Ceremony – 1:00 pmReception – 5:00 pmWeather – GREAT! Sunny, no wind.
I got up at 5:30 am on the day of the wedding. I took a bath, relaxed, went on the computer for a bit, etc…
My Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man were at my house that morning and the makeup lady came at 7:00 am and my hair sylist came at 8:30. My hair sylist was only supposed to do my hair and my moms. Bridesmaid or Best Man went to her own hair salon and Maid/Matron of Honor was going to do her own hair. In the end, Maid/Matron of Honor couldnt figure out what to do with her hair so my hair stylist helped her with it a bit.
Hair went a bit over but we still managed to leave by 11:15. I was hoping to be out of the house by 10:45/11:00.
We had to drive 20 minutes to get to the hotel where everything was happening. We were also getting dressed there.
We arrived, and quickly got up to the hotel room. The photographers met us there and started taking pictures of my dress, the flowers, all the accessories, etc…
At 12:30, I got into my dress. The girls got me laced up, then it was nice to get accessorized 🙂 Earrings, bracelets, necklace, garters, shoes, etc…
Ceremony started promptly at 1:00 just as planned!!
Only glitch with the ceremony was the music (I burnt CDs to be played on a small CD player). The guys and girls walked into the room, everything went well. Then it was my turn. My Dad and I were standing in the hallway waiting for the music to start… but nothing happened. So we thought maybe they were waiting for us to go to the door… so we walked up… STILL no music… we stood there for what felt like 10 minutes. I think it was probably only 2 minutes or so but at least people got some good pictures! Finally the music started and we made our way to the front 🙂 Turns out the CD wouldn’t work. Thankfully I made a backup and that’s what they used!
The ceremony went great. I was SHOCKED that I didn’t cry. And I was sooo calm. I noticed everyone around me, smiled at everyone, etc… DH’s voice cracked once during vows. He said he wasn’t tearing, it was nerves… not sure if I should believe him 🙂
After the ceremony, we did pictures with the families outside of the hotel in a nice courtyard area. Thankfully we had nice weather and were able to do all the pictures outside.
Once we got all the family pictures done, the wedding party took off to a near by park. We didn’t end up finishing until 30 minutes before the reception. We got back just in time to be announced.
The reception went great. Everyone danced, the music the DJ played was perfect.
Dinner was good but the portions were small. I think a few of the guys were pretty hungry. Darling Husband asked for a 2nd plate because the first one didnt fill him up at all.
We left around 11:30. Reception went until just after midnight.
Vendors– Photographer – Our photographer was GREAT. We ended up getting a 2nd one for free as they were testing how they worked together. – DJ – Played great music, not too loud and not too quiet, took requests.- Cake – Our cake was GREAT. Looked pefect, tasted yummy. A few guests told us they had 3+ pieces LOL.- Flowers – Were BEAUTIFUL. I loved them. The colors popped so nicely against the girls brown dresses. My bouquet smelt amazing.
I’m sure I’m missing a ton of info but I’m still really tired. First day back to work. We went to Vegas for our honeymoon.
Here is a post I made after the wedding with some guest pictures.
And here is the first teaser pic we’ve got from the photographer… I just noticed the picture looks a bit blurry. Will try to upload a better one tonight from home.
