- Wedding: June 2019
It’s been a few days since we eloped in Maui but I figured I should go ahead and do a recap before it’s too late!
We woke up the morning of our wedding and made pancakes & bacon. I finished sewing shirt stays for my Fiance since he forgot his and we couldn’t find any anywhere. He was actually stoked about his homemade ones and it was the cutest thing ever. We then went and picked up some flowers for my bouquet. I ironed his clothes and then we got to work on the bouquet. I was very happy with how it turned out! The lady at the local grocery store was incredibly helpful and helped me pick the right quantities of flowers and did a great job of giving me another opinion to make sure they went well together.
I then started getting ready and it took way less time than I was expecting. Lol! Once hair and makeup were done I shut myself in the extra bedroom and got dressed. My Fiance waited in the living room so that we could have a special moment of him seeing me for the first time. Though we didn’t video it the moment is one I’ll remember forever. It was so special watching his face light up. He kept saying how cute I was and that he agreed that my dress was timeless. Our outfits each turned out great and I may be a bit biased but I think they matched beautifully(:
After the grand reveal we both realized we were starving so I made sandwiches and slipped out of my dress to eat. Haha! Then I put my dress back on and we headed towards the beach.
We were crazy early but that was okay!
Finally it was time! It still felt so surreal. We found a little area tucked back on the beach to claim as our “corner”. It wasn’t very busy at all and everyone was amazing about giving us some space. Our officiant & photographer were absolutely perfect and were both so sweet.
Our ceremony was pretty short. We’d both written our own vows and heard eachother’s for the first time that day. My Fiance wanted to go first because he thought mine would be “better” but he was soooo wrong! His were so heartwarming and I will treasure them forever.
The ceremony finished up and we took pictures for about an hour and a half as the sun started to set. Then we headed off to dinner at a local restaurant! Yes, I still wore my dress! The hostess realized we’d just gotten married and was so excited about it and happy for us it was adorable. She announced that we’d just gotten married to everyone who was sitting outside and they all cheered. It was a really special night!
Though every little detail wasn’t perfect it was still the best day of my life. Looking forward to a few more days in paradise before I head home with my HUSBAND(:
TLDR; we eloped in Hawaii on the beach at sunset and it was the best day ever
P.S. I didn’t want to include pictures that showed too much of our faces since we haven’t even share details pictures with most of our family yet (or posted them on social media).
