Show me your wedding day schedule. Time line starting from ceremony to the end of reception (include when you took photos). Any regrets with your time line?

We had a destination wedding at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, but it had traditional ceremony/reception elements:
Woke up & showered/blow dried hair: 9:30 am
Breakfast with friends: 10:30 am
Hair appointment with Maid/Matron of Honor: 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Did my own makeup and got ready: 1:45 pm – 3 pm
Getting ready photos with my photog & family in my room: 3 pm – 4 pm
First look photos and all other photos: 4 – 5:30
Back to room to freshen up and take more photos until 6:00
Ceremony started at 6:15; ended by 6:45
Back up to room to change into second dress, arrived at reception at 7:20 (guests went straight from ceremony to reception and were having drinks/chatting until we got there)
First dance, father daughter dance, dinner, toasts during dinner, dessert, garter/bouquet tosses then dancing until 11 pm 🙂
pharmy: I think im taking pics and hr before and an hr after ceremony. I don’t want it to get to dark when we are taking pics but i want the sun to be setting as a back drop. Seems like i will have to go with the first look even though i wanted something more traditional. Do you have any regrets seeing the groom prior to the ceremony or did it feel just as special? I tried putting together a time like and im like damn the time goes by fast and i still forgot to add some stuff in it.
I don’t have my concrete timeline yet, since I am still quite a ways out, but we are doing a first look.
MissComicBook: I am trying to convince myself to do it so i make the best of my time. The only thing i can think of is if i see him before hand i maybe less prone to cry and i dont wanna cry in front of everyone
vanessa1359: I intereviewed over a dozen photographers and most of them said that they prefer timelines that have first looks because it gives you more time to get the photos that you really want. In reading about other brides who have done first looks, it doesn’t make your walk down the aisle any less special, and it really helps reduce your anxiety and gives you a few personal, private moments with your future husband before the wedding. That’s the big reason I’m doing one.
We accidentally ran into each other in the morning before the photographer arrived (I forgot something in our room and didn’t think he was in there). After that, I really didn’t care about it. I loved seeing him before, and we snuck in a kiss and I told him to relax and have a beer lol. I just wanted us to be together after that, and I have some photos that I love of family members only half ready hanging out with us and talking while having some drinks. We got a lot of family shots out of the way beforehand too which was nice while my makeup was at its best lol It was a blast, and the sun came out after pouring rain so I got the best of both photos (rain/umbrella and sunny).
MissComicBook: i am leaning towards the first look. I do get nervous easy so it will help
orchidblooms: that sounds so romantic. A sneak peak before… sooo cute!
We are having our wedding at 5.30pm and reception at 7pm all at the one venue (cermony in garden, reception inside) so not alot of time in between for photos off site. We have decided we are going to do photos before the cermony but our photographer will set up a “first look” moment for us so we still get that moment 🙂
Im also looking foward to it as it will settle the nerves before the cermony 🙂
