I’m in the process of booking a photographer & videographer & don’t know how many hours to book them for. I’ve started building a wedding day timeline, but it seems sooooo long. Can anyone tell me how long getting ready & Photos took?
– 4 bridesmaids & 4 groomsmen
– hair & makeup for all bridesmaids, 2 moms, 3 grandmas
– 6:30 ceremony, followed by cocktail hour & reception
– small families – 1 sibling each, 4 grandparents total between the 2 of us, & Parents on each side
our wedding planner said we should probably start getting ready around 10, do Photos around 2…that seems like a crazy long amount of time for both of those activities.
Can you guys share share your timelines??

My time ended up being:
hair and make up started at 10:30 (6 people for hair total) and finished around 2..
2-3 we actually got dressed, exchanged gifts, and I put my dress on.
3-3:30 got married
3:30-4:30 thanked guests, took pictures with guests
4:30-7 – pictures with photographer ( cocktail hours for guests)
7-7:05- HAD MY ONLY COLD BEER FOR THE DAY
7:05-8:30- supper and speeches
8:30-10:30- thanking everyone individually for coming and taking more pictures.
What I really learned is that there’s not enough time in the day. There’s a lot happening at once and trying to keep everyone together is impossible. Everyone kept disappearing and I’d have to send someone else to find them, or someone couldn’t find something they needed. And for the life of me I couldn’t find time to drink ugh.

I should also mention that I only had one venue for everything. I got married in a beautiful Inn in a small town in Newfoundland. We all stayed there the night before, so there was no travel that way. The stylist came to the Inn, I got married at the inn, I took all my pictures at the inn, and supper/ reception was at the inn. And it was still hectic lol.
