We are just taking taxis since everything (hotel, ceremony, reception) is downtown where it’s easy to get a taxi, and wayyyyyy cheaper than limos. If you can get taxis is is usually the way to go since limos have usually a 4-hour minimum and that adds up to have them sit and wait for you.

Honestly I felt the limo was over rated. I’m glad my now I laws paid for it. They needed it for their family because they would have needed to rent a car anyways to transport everyone (including my disabled father in law who has a hard time getting in and out of smaller cars) so they decided, since my husband wanted one, to rent two limos for the wedding. I had never ridden in one and it was nice but I could have lived with out iT. Though getting my dress into a smaller car would have been challenging. I don’t know how much they paid for it but they had one limo pick up the grooms family and one limo went to my family’s house, but since the mothers needed to be there before me, I rode in the limo with my father and photographer only, and then after the ceremony with my new husband and photographer only. Everyone had gone ahead after formal portraits to the cocktail hour. The limo arrived at my house an hour before the wedding I believe. Or maybe a half an hour before we needed to leave.

$130 for each towncar limo (guys and girls separately) and then $200 for our big group SUV limo.

I’m totally in the minority here in how I got to my wedding!  Me and most of my bridal party took the free shuttle to the venue from the hotel.  It sounds kind of tacky, but it was a lot of fun!  My husband and his best man drove there so as not to see me in my dress, and my husband and I drove back to the hotel after the wedding (he’s not much of a drinker).  I think the limo thing is such a waste of money.  I spent that money on better things, like amazing food at my reception!
