Hi bees! I’ve been engaged for about 7 months now and I’ve noticed through this process that I get major anxiety anytime I have to make a decision about something wedding-related!
The dress – I went dress shopping at 3 or 4 stores and found a dress that was everything I thought I wanted, a strapless fitted lace dress in our small budget – so we bought it. As soon as my mom and I left the store I started freaking out, told her I thought we should go back in and cancel it, called a friend who had me call the store and put it on hold, and finally, after 3 days of CONSTANT anxiety I got it cancelled. While the dress I did end up finally purchasing is completely opposite of this first one (and I love it) I still had anxiety when walking out of the store.
The invitations – I was all set to order them a couple days ago and again got major anxiety! I designed them myself and do love them but it still makes me anxious for some reason. I decided to hold off because the printer is having a sale (CatPrint has 20% off on Cinco de Mayo FYI!!). Even the envelopes! I can’t decide between a recycled envelope and a metallic one!
I’ve been unable to make a decision on the bridesmaids dresses yet between long and short, and even placing the order with the girls made me anxious. Same for the guys, since we ultimately decided to rent but I doubted that decision and thought we should buy instead.
Anyone else go through major anxiety making wedding decisions? I don’t have this issue in everyday life. I love everything about wedding planning except the decision making, but still wouldn’t let anyone do it for me. 🙂

Yes, I went through 3 deferent themes and colors, from domination to none, from a group of 150 to 80, and I has such bad anxiety during all this decision making and all of them being me to do and plan I ended up going for the Destination Wedding, only 14 guest, and in another country! Most of the wedding was included and pre set at the resort I only had to and make the STD, brochures, invitations, a few choices of upgrading the reception and get everyone a gift which was easy when you know everyone will be at a beach resort. LIFE has been much nicer and emotionally kind. LOL
Try not to over think it like I did. Get help and be open to opinions but be careful who you ask them from LOL I hope it works out wonderful, breath, we all go thru it.

Girl, I feel you! We will get through this!!!
I am having dress drama right now… which one to choose!!! I even posted a poll on the board to help me choose. It is hard even though they are small details and don’t really matter in the scheme of things. I think we just need to take a deep breath make decisions and not look back!! Good luck– we need it!

I think this is a common problem. After having a minor meltdown yesterday over which stamps to put on the RSVP envelopes, I realized that it will all be ok. Most people won’t notice if every little thing isn’t perfect. They’ll just remember how happy you were on your wedding day.
After this realization, I printed one of the envelopes with the state abbreviation instead of spelling it out like I had wanted. I just put it on the stack with the rest of them and said “No one will notice”. It felt great!
Just breathe and enjoy it!

@kybride2012: Love this! Wedding planning really makes you stress over the small things! I have to keep reminding myself that no one will remember what the envelopes looked like or that the address wasn’t centered!

Try not to overthink things too much, it’ll all be Ok. And it’ll be less stress too if you just go with a more laid back attitude.
I haven’t had any major meltdowns or anxiety yet. Hoping I won’t. I do worry about certain aspects, but making a decision is not an issue for me. I know what I want and what i don’t and if I have a couple of ideas that are the same, i go with the cheapest and easiest option LOL.
