We are having 45 guests at our wedding with the “reception” to follow. The reception will be cocktail hour followed by a lovely lunch with lots too choose from including action stations, desserts, the wedding cake etc.

i don’t think it’s tacky at all. We will have infused lemonades and teas, mimosas, etc along with the meal. We aren’t having a band or dancing either actually. I wanted it simple and less expensive. We leave for our honeymoon the next day so we will spend the evening out with our family before heading to the hotel for the night

@Chrissy26:  Im planning to have our wedding in July I dont even have a dress, Wanted max 15 people or will elope a wonderful elopement in Napa with a dress cake suite decor photographer just the two of us still deciding. My budget was $10 000 and below but Im getting lazy planning, SO told me to book reception and buy the dress but I will do that when he proposes Im just  a little bit traditional, But I have everything planned my colors dress etc, July is near and I am getting my dress made which take 15 weeks I wonder how I will pull that of.

No, I think that sounds lovely.

The only thing that might make it an etiquette no-no is if you already extended the inviation to those 50 people.

I certainly don’t have restaurant ideas for there, but my daughter got married in June 2011, she had a total of 13 people, including them, it was at the botanical gardens in Niagra, and then we all went to an Inn and suites, with an AG restaurant, it had a huge chefs table, a 4 course meal, and really it was the most intimate and special wedding I had been to in a long time.  ENJOY!!!
