I was fitted & placed an order for my wedding dress 2 weeks ago, so I guess it is too late now. The salon made a boo-boo with my measurements. I had a member in the family who is a tailor measure me during xmas get together after my concern that the size was wrong. (They measured on-top of the sample dress; that should have been my first cue). Anyways I should have been “safe” at a size 6 only having to adjust the bust by 2 sizes (2 inches). Instead, I have ordered an 8. At this point to fit “right on” they would need to take in the bust by 3 sizes (3 inches), take in the waist by 1.-2.5 sizes (1.5-2.5 inches), and take in the hip by 1.5-2 sizes (1.5-2 inches). My dress is a strapless taffeta mermaid dress, simple in design, zipped up in the back. My only concern was being able to move around during the reception (sit, dance)…which is why I gave for more space in the hip. My measurements currently are 32-25-37 but I ordered a dress for the sizes of 35-26.5-38.5. but after starting a workout program this January…I am becoming concerned that I may lose weight (and size). the actual dress itself is the Allure 8526. I fell in love with the simplicity and elegance of the gown, so I’m hoping that it does not look butchered after alteration. The shop had a set price for take-in’s (didn’t matter how many sizes). I also am ready to contact a seamstress (with experience with bridal and pageant gowns) my friend referred me to and see what she says. I am just tired of worrying about this and needed to vent my frustrations : ( .
