So I have the dress picked out for about 2 years. Thought this would be THE dress to wear for my garden wedding.
Went in to try it on, was so excited that my dress shopping would be easy. Put it on and didn’t I did not like it! I was so sad, I had dreamed of this dress. So true that you don’t know what will work for your body til you put it on. So the search continued….I won’t post all the pictures of dresses I tried on but it was a lot. I was getting frustrated because I hate shopping, then I found it. My aunt, grandmother and mom went with me to try it on and let me know their opinion. I didn’t get the feed back I wanted, but I was in love with it and wasn’t going to let someone else come in between me and my dress. I bought it that day.
For about 2-3 months I was ecstatic that I had my wedding dress. Then I started having 2nd thoughts. Not sure why, of course not getting married til 3/31/2012 does not help. I have a lot of time to think and change my mind countless times, which annoys 1 or 2 of my bridesmaids a lot. There was another dress that I had wanted to try on that they did not have in stock at the time I bought my dress. I could not stop thinking about it. So mom and I drive to Columbia, SC since that was the only store close by that had it. I tried it on:
and was not impressed. I tried it on in ivory, which is the color I wanted, and it looked weird. The babric was different for top and bottom so the colors did not match up at all. Also the bottom was way too poofy! I do not need 100 yards of tulle lol.
So I went back to thinking that I had made the right choice in dresses. Then my mom saw this other dress and asked me to try it on. Didn’t like it that much because it more of a fitted dress and didn’t think it would look good with my body type, but it was only the 2nd dress she had asked me to try on so I did. I walked out
and my mom started crying! I knew I could not keep the original dress. This was the reaction I was looking for the whole time. My mom never teared up with any other dress. Davids Bridal was awesome! The let me exchange my dress so I could get this one! After I switched dresses several people told me this one was so much better and that they didn’t really like the original dress lol. At least I don’t have psycho bridesmaids and family who tell what I should and shouldn’t wear 🙂
So I finaly have my dress! Nothing else compares to it. Working on losing some weight now so it fits even better. Now I have another dilemma…..shoes.
What do y’all think of the dress? Here are some more pictures below.
Sorry some are kind of blurry. Mom took them and her hands were shaking 🙂
