- Wedding: September 2013
As a plus size gal, I was understandably nervous and afraid of dress shopping, I have recently lost 45 pounds and no where near my ideal weight, so I was afraid of how I’d look in a wedding dress. The first few dresses definitely made me feel and look bigger than I already am, starting the shopping experience off on the wrong foot. I thought I’d have to settle and never look like a gorgeous bride. Ball gowns definitely were not doing it for me. Right before my appointment was over the consultant pulls out a Vera Wang dropped waist. I was hesitant because I thought it wouldn’t look good on me at all, emphasizing areas that definitely didn’t need it, however I was extremely suprised. The shape it gave me was amazing. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the skirt, it wasn’t my cup of tea, so I left and scoured the net until I stumbled upon the Essence collection. The moment I saw my dress I knew it was teh one, it’s the only dress I’ve ever seen that took my breath away. My only problem was that stores that did carry it only had it in a sample size 12 and being a street size 18/20, it wouldn’t do. So, taking a leap of faith I ordered it anyway, after plenty of reassurance from the bridal shop owner that it would look just as amazing. My Essence is the same fabric, cut and shape as the Vera, just a much more “me” type of skirt. 🙂 YAY I can’t wait until it comes in!
This is my Essence of Australia dress
This is the Vera Wang from the White collection I tried, loved it just not the skirt
What do you ladies think? Ignore my facial expression in the first one of me, I was reacting to something someone had said 🙂 lol.
