Hey weddingbees, So i just got engaged to my boyfriend who i been dating for 8 years. We decided that it was time to tie the knot and we are getting married in 3 months. I been dress shopping like crazy and i found a dress that i loved at one place, but it was too much for my budget. I looked elsewhere and i found a 2nd dress that i liked. i put a downpayment to reserve the dress and i was suppose to go this weekend to get fitted. Yesterday i received a phone call from the 1st place and they told me that they would give me the dress for 200 less which is a great deal. I called the place from the 2nd dress and they said that i would not be able to get my money back. Now my fight is that i did not make the payment at the store and i was not aware of the non refundable policy. There for i did not get a receipt and they did not verbally tell me that it was non refundable over the phone.. What should i do? Would this be a lost cause?? PLEASE SOME ADVISE!!!
