- Wedding: May 2013
I recently pushed my wedding day back due to a lot of my fiance’s family and friends being from out of town and he wanted in more of the spring time. In the meantime, I have found a dress I am absolutely in love with. The size it is right now fits me perfectly, however, I’m a bigger girl and I would like to lose some weight as our wedding date has now been pushed back to May of 2013.
The owner of the bridal shop said she would take off about 1/4th of the dress price if I bought THAT exact dress. The dress was above my budget to begin with so taking that much off would be amazing. However, she said if I were to lose more than 40lbs, that that would then be more than 2 dress sizes and I would not be able to alter it down anymore.
Ive read forum after forum and got conflicting reviews as to whether or not it could be altered lower. A part of me wants to just order the dress two sizes smaller so I have room to go further down if I lose mroe weight but it can also go up to the size I am now. I’ve only been bigger than I am one time in my life so I’m not worried about being a bigger size than I am now.
So my question is, do I buy the dress with the discount or buy the dress without the discount at a smaller size? Thanks for any advice before hand!!
