ugh. i just got back from there and i’m going to pay 500. for my alterations! I’m irked.. that’s more than half my dress cost!!
I bought a dress from Alfred Angelo. I got quoted about 400-500 also. I Live in Miami and fortunatley for me there are numerous seamstresses here willing to do the work for much less, and with double the experience! I went with someone that has been altering wedding dresses since the 60’s and quoted me $250. That’s with a french bustle! My dress is not simple either, a lot of beading and long train.
I have seen other posts on wedding wire that were complaining about the same thing, Alfred Angelo alterations costing a fortune.
It’s worth shopping around, just because you bought the dress from A.A. dosen’t mean you have to alter with them too.
I’ve heard they’re pretty overpriced! Search around and ask for recommendations, I’m sure you can find someone much better and much cheaper!
Here are the results from a search I did on Yelp for a seamstress in LA. I highly recommend going to a few places to get quotes before you decide where to take it to.
