I think you look great in your wedding dress and I wouldn’t worry too much about making your dress fit the venue, as long as the dress suits you and your sense of style it will be perfect.  I am getting married at Willowdale about 6 months after you, and although it has a garden and is not a super formal venue, the building is lovely and classic so a little bling won’t look out of place at all.  As far as the concern about satin on a warm day, I would say that May 13th in the Boston area has a 50% chance of being in the low 70s and sunny and a 50% chance of being in the 50s and cloudy. Unless you’re way under budget, I wouldn’t worry about spending money on a reception dress when there’s a 50% chance you’ll be uncomfortable in your satin dress. Besides, from the look of your dress, there are not a ton of crinolines in it and when I was trying on dresses, those were what seemed to make me the warmest. Good luck!
