I need some advice.
I ordered my dress way back in January. The salon saleswoman suggested that I order it in a petite size, since they still come in much too long. I am 5’5. She told me I would save on alterations this way.
So flash forward to my first fitting last month, and it just fits without any shoes at all.
I already bought a gorgeous pair of high heels that I really wanted to wear to make myself a little taller and make my butt look amazing ( I’m sure all the ladies reading this know what I mean)
I don’t want to let it out on the bottom because it is a bubble hem, and I love that aspect the dress.
I really do not want to wear flats. Do I have any other options? Is the dress shop responsible for this mess? Does it even matter at this point?
And if there is nothing I can do, can you please help me find some beautiful shoe options with zero height?
Here is my dress:

Sounds like it was her mistake and honestly, I’d have them order a new dress.

Thank you for reassuring me this is not my fault.
I would love to have them order a new one, but I am getting married in less than two months, and it took seven months for the dress to come in the first time

@Irishb: Is it possible to get similar shoes without a high heel? I understand that she told you to order a petite dress, however it will be your words against hers and more than likely they will ask you to pay for it again…

I think you are right. There is no mercy in the wedding business…
I went shopping all day yesterday…all of the fall things are out, and I can’t find a silver blinged out sandal.
I am now wondering if it would be easier to find a navy blue shoe to match the bridesmaids dresses…
I can’t seem to find anything flat I like…
I wanted to be tall on my wedding day…ughhh

I actually ordered the petite length too, but b/c I wanted to wear flats. I agree, heels do help your posture and seem more elegant, but I thought being comfortable on my big day was more important to me. This is what I ended up with. You can’t see the black soles as much in person… but they give me a little bling 🙂

Did you mention that you needed it to accomdate high heels?

Could you share with me where you bought your shoes?
Good question..I actually specifically said I woud be looking for a one to two inch heel, but no more than two.
She told me that they would still have to hem it regardless.

@Irishb: sorry I don’t remember what store I had them shipped from. Just google “glitter flats” and a bunch should pop up 🙂
also, try websites: 6pm.com, endless.com, shoes.com, I searched those relentessly…

They should be able to drop that bubble hem down for you and if needed sewing in fabric up there in its place to keep the bubble, accomodating for your curent shoe height. I think you should take the dress elsewhere and ask them to drop the hem. It’s really not that of a big deal.

im wearing blue flats i think that is a good idea but finding them is a problem …. and i know how it is to want to wear heels i love them but i have been in two weddings in the past year and wore heels to both and let me tell you go with the flats! on your wedding day you dont want your feet killing you as you say your vows!! lol

Thank you…I am in love myself!!!
That is exactly the response I was looking for…why in the world did they act like it was impossible???…and of course I would have no idea that it is possible.

I’m 5’5” as well and I kind of wish I got the petite size but my consultant never mentioned it. The hem alone is costing me $250 and I’m wearing a 1 ½” heel. Did the salon have you sign anything stating you were aware of the size you were buying (it would be part of the receipt)? If so, there’s probably nothing you can do.
As for finding shoes, you can check endless.com. Endless shoes are also found on amazon. Just put in the name of the shoe on amazon’s search and you can usually find them and sometimes for less than endless.com (plus free shipping!).
Not sure if this link will work but I did a search for silver flats on endless.com.
