I told myself up to $3K but miraculously got The Dress for $2K, alterations included (had to majorly negotiate though).

My budget was $500 brought my dress for $499. I wanted a Maggie Sottero or Sottero & Midgley dress but found out how much they cost so I took the thought out of my mind. I happen to stroll into a boutique by my job and asked if they had any sales coming up they did, so I scheduled an appointment. The dress I fell in love with was a Sottero & Midgley which I didn’t know until I took the dress off. I brought it off the rack and it is a discontiuned style from the 2008 line. Atleast I know many new brides would not have my dress Smile.

My budget was $1,000 which I initially was under. There was an issue with the dress, and the shop and I ended up returning it. My new dress was around $1,500 and my parents paid the difference.

Mine was £1,000, so I voted $1,000 – $2,000. It was the only thing I was prepared to go over budget on, because I knew I wouldn’t be able to walk away from *the one*. However, the dress I bought was probably the cheapest one that I tried on, and it was under budget! = happy bride!!

I didn’t really have a budget, but love bridal fashion and getting a designer gown would be a bit expensive.  I also wanted a gown that was made in the US.

I was keeping an eye on the sample sellers and preowned websites, assuming that was the only way to get a designer gown that was made here.

I wound up with two gowns.  One is a one-of-a-kind gown that I won from the designer in a contest.  Retail on that would have been $6000-7000.  I also got am Amsale at a sample reseller and paid about $1300 for it.  Add in about $400 in alterations, and my two dresses cost about $1700 (retail would have probably been about $11,000 for both).

I’m ordering my replica dress from China, and by the time I add in shoes, accessories, veil, undergarments, etc. my expense will be under $500.

I initially wanted to stay around $500 or less, but then I fell in love with the Mori Lee 4808 which was closer to $650. After some competitive pricing, I was able to get her (and a gorgeous floor-length veil!) for $592 after taxes. SCORE.
