I’m making my dress, so it should cost around $500.

First time around my budget was $1000 and I found it for $599. Then when i went to pick it up….hate. Mom did some sweet talking and we got a store credit (doing bridesmaids there now!). The next shopping day my dad phoned me that morning and put the budget up to $2000! Found the one and bought the sample for $1400 🙂

I was planning on spending about $2000 (including alterations) on a Maggie when I saw Vera’s collection for DB. I fell in love and saved about $500 in the process.

Is the poll for what your budget was, or how much you actually spent?

My budget was 2000 (including alterations) but ended up spending 2240 without alterations. The salon is giving me 100$ of free alterations so hopefully I won’t go over that, especially since I got it measured hollow to hem! Fingers crossed!

My grandmom was buying my dress, and didn’t give me a budget, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend more than about $1000 on the dress itself, knowing there would then be alterations, accessories, etc.  My dress was $550 on sale, so after alterations and accessories (including $200 splurge-y shoes) my total will be about $1100, at the more expensive end of my estimates. I’m ok with that.

I orginially wanted a ready made wedding dress under $500 because I didnt think I would find a couture gown under $1k.  Thanks to a wonderful sample gown reseller I was able to wear Badgley Mischka gown for under $700.  Yes it was from the 09 line but who cares when its your style and your dream designer.  With all the $$$ I saved, I was able to purchase my replica reception dress.  My total for both dresses and altrations was $1100.

We had a lovely little elopement so my dress was more of an evening gown- a sapphire blue BCBG with a train. It was the perfect dress for our perfect occassion. To me, its not so much how much something costs, but how well it completes your vision for your perfect day.

I’m giving myself up to $1000 for the dress. We can afford much more but it just seems ridiculous to spend so much on a dress I will we’re once(and plan to trash in the ocean for pics).
