I think it’s natural to second-guess yourself.  I, too, ordered my dress from China after trying on several styles that were way more expensive.  It should be here in a few more days!

Put on your dress and look at yourself.  Do you feel beautiful in it?  Do you feel like a bride?  Then you made the right choice.  Remember, a wedding dress is something you’re only going to wear for less than a day.  In the end, it all comes down to you & your Fiance finally saying “I Do”.

You chose your dress because you liked the style and it fits the season (as you said…hot in August!) You should be comfortable and enjoy your day.  It’s not a day to please everyone else.  It’s YOUR day…embrace it Laughing

I had to LOL at jalepeno’s coochie. I think that acurately describes Texas heat.

I think a majority of us have a little regret, but try to remember why you were drawn to that dress in the first place. I think I know which dress you’re talking about and it would be perfect for a hot TX day. (I lived there for three months and couldn’t handle the heat!)

I originally chose a satin full length gown with 5 layers and it was so heavy and I was sweating it in just from trying it on. My wedding is in August as well and I live in houston! Its so hot! If I could, I would have opted for a tea length dress, but my mom wanted a more traditional for a Catholic church wedding. So I chose something lighter, but still full length. It’s all up to you!

I lived in Houston during June – August. I thought I was going to melt. Haha! If you aren’t used to, it’s really hard to handle. My mom still lives there and we make sure to visit when it isn’t 100 degrees. ๐Ÿ˜›

That’s the dress I thought you were talking about. I think it’s going to be perfect!!

@MrsDPal811:  Nothing at all wrong with wearing a tea-length dress to a Catholic ceremony! If it had major cleavage, strapless, backless, and a slit up to there, well, there might be some issues, but your dress is lovely and seasonally appropriate. Enjoy it!

I live just across the border in Monterrey so i have a pretty good idea of the temperatures you’re talking about, and its hotter than hell in august!! i think a tea length dress is perfect, you don’t want to be expiring from the heat on your wedding day ๐Ÿ™‚
