Originally I had planned on wearing this dress which I had bought for $850 and removing the sleeves to keep it simple and elegant.. It looks gorgeous on..
I have recently fell in love with another dress ($2000) which is gorgeous!
I guess this is what happens when you go shopping for a dress way too early 🙁 What do you think i should do? I need to make my decision asap because of the 3-4 month delivery…Pls help! I need your opinions!

Hey there. I have a few questions that I think you should consider before making your decision:
1. Budget: What is your wedding budget? You have to keep in mind the final amount for the dress, including alterations, veil, accessories, etc. If you are trying to keep your budget low, the second dress would probably not be a great option. Considering you have already bought the first dress, that probably will factor into your final decision.
2. Theme/Feel of Wedding: The first dress, to me, feels very simple, but elegant. The second dress is very romantic and feminine. Depending on what you are going for, one of these two dresses is probably more appropriate and in line with your ideas.
3. Appearance: Which dress looks better ON YOU? The pictures that you gave us are of professional models. It makes it hard to judge which dress would be best on you, since we have no idea what you look like! 🙂
I understand what it feels like to shop and fall in love with several dresses. My wedding isn’t until October of next year, and I already bought my dress(which, By The Way, was WAY more than I originally planned on paying, but I can’t see myself in any other dress, so I sucked it up and paid for it).
Good luck! See if you can include some pics of you in the dresses!

Totally the second one! Its beautiful! I think it’s more versatile than the first one. Sweetheart necklines are so flattering, too. Let us know what you pick!

Wow, they are both very pretty. But I agree completely with angeldoc. There’s a lot more to consider than just how they look on the models. My gut is to stick with the first, since you clearly like it – and you already own it! 😉

I think I’d have to see them on you to really understand. I’m going through dress dilemmas myself right now… and I’ve realized that the only possible way to really know is to see you in them. I think personality, comfort, and fit have a lot to do with how I would pick.
That being said, on the models, I prefer the second dress for it’s details.

If possible it would help to see them on you. But, I do agree with Dumpling about everything she said and I’m a lace fan.

I am a Pronovias bride but I am a huge Jim Hjelm fan too…I love the second one!

I love the second dress. It looks like a Paloma Blanca. It’s very similar to my dress (the bust is slightly different) I can tell you that for my dress, I was originally quoted $2700. However, I shopped around and visited 5 different stores that carried this brand and ended up getting my dress for only $1800 including tax and a veil! So if you really like the second dress more, I would say shop around and see if you can get a better price.
PS I totally understand why you like the second dress… the hem detail is really so lovely… once I tried on my Paloma Blanca, I wasn’t happy with any other dress that had a plain hem.

Dress # 2 is a Paloma Blanca style # 3854
In case you want to shop around for prices… I noticed that the link you posted didn’t have any information on the dress.

I LOVE the second gown. But i really think itll come down to which one flatters you more….and if you can justify spending another 2 grand on a dress.

omg, that Paloma #3854 dress also lured me into purchasing a 2nd dress!!!! lol.. it really is such a gorgeous gown. Ditto on shopping around. I got that dress for approx $1700. I actually could have gotten it for lower at another place but it was too late.

Have you tried the second dress on yet? I’ve been shopping for a while, and I finally fell in love yesterday. Before then I’d seen and tried many that I liked, but wasn’t sure of. This one made my heart beat faster. And though I gravitated to it immediately, that didn’t happen until I put it on. I guess my point is, I do sort of think there is *the* dress (though I was starting to lose faith), and when you put it on you should be able to picture yourself at your wedding in it. If the first one isn’t it, I don’t think it’s harmful to keep looking. But do you think there’s anywhere you can try it on locally first?

I love the first dress. I think it’s simle, elegant, and timeless. The second dress is pretty, but I prefer the first. 🙂
