mzb1 :  I gasped aloud when I saw the dress…and then read what you wrote. DO NOT Listen to that sales person! The dress is gorgeous- elegant, classy, and classic.

mzb1 :  You’re taking the opinion of a woman who literally handles wedding gowns for a living, she’s probably seen everything. So by that comparison, yes, there are other gowns out there that are more intricate.

HOWEVER, this DOES NOT take anything away from your gown, nor should it affect how you feel about it. If it feels right, go for it.

The lace back and illusion neckline dresses are trendy right now, so you probably caught her off guard. She also said this without seeing you in that specific dress and many things look different on a hanger than they do on someone. She didn’t say you look plain in that dress, she just said it’s a simple style. It’s just an observation and I would take it at that.

Do what makes you happy. I think that dress is beautiful. It’s not my personal style but this dress is meant for you, no one else.

The seamstress isn’t wearing the dress. Your fiance proposed to you before he saw this dress. And your guests can pick their own dresses at their weddings. This is YOUR DRESS.

Agree with what everyone said before – that dress is gorgeous! So classic and elegant.

Listen to your instinct and don’t let that rude woman throw you off. <3

mzb1 :  I agree with the PP that the lady was trying to upsell you. The more detail a dress has the more expensive it is. Take your business elsewhere. You don’t need to pay someone to insult your tastes.

That dress is beautiful, very romantic. You should check out the “plain and simple” dress thread. Lots of simple stunners on that thread. The style just suits some brides very well, detailed dresses suit others. That’s why there’s a million choices out there, lol.

It is beautiful! Trust your instinct, I’m sure you’ll look amazing in it. You know yourself best. Her little up-sale tactic just backfired. Do not go to that store! Take your business elsewhere.

I would definitely find a bridal store you like and feel comfortable with. You want someone to help you find what you want not feel like your trying to make a sale. Find a dress like this to try on but my suggestion is to try on everything all kinds of styles because you never know what you will like. I wanted something different until I went and tried on dresses. Just be open even if you think your not going to like it. I think a lot of people try to find the perfect dress before they go shopping and you can’t always do that. Wedding dresses are a different ballgame.

mzb1 :  Okay so screw her. Go to another bridal salon that wants to give you what you want. That dress is classy and elegant.

I agree that you should go to a different salon! It’s a gorgeous dress! I’m considering something similar for my dress as well. It’s your day so wear what makes YOU happy and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. You don’t want to regret going with a dress you thought your family would like especially because even in your family people will have different tastes so you won’t please everyone. Go with the dress you want 🙂

mzb1 :  I agree with PPs, that saleslady is a. a terrible saleslady, and b. it is NOT simple. It is gorgeous, classy, and flattering.

That dress is stunning. Similar to mine! I wore “Calla” by Wtoo from BHLDN. I tried on lace, blingy, halter, the whole 9 yards…but in the end, my simple Calla was the winner. It’s your day, you wear what YOU love!
