Yes, I had doubt. There are a few things that helped me.

1. Stop looking. Seriously. Trust yourself.

2. Don’t look at crappy photos of yourself in the ill-fitting dress. You will look SO much better the day of.

3. Check out the “before and after” thread pinned at the top of the dress board or on the full figured board. See what people looked like when trying it on vs their wedidng day. Spoiler alert: They ALL look amazing and 20x better than when they were trying it on.

4. Focus on other parts of your outfit – accessories, hair, shoes, makeup, etc. That stuff is what really pulls the whole look together. A wedding dress alone isn’t always very impressive… but a BRIDE is!

I have to agree with @NAvery.

One of the things that Weddingbee has taught me by previous posters with dress regret is to not look at any more dresses after purchasing the one.

You can drive yourself crazy. Once i checked off that I purchased the dress, I do no more lurking around and concentrate on other projects for the wedding.

@Lulume:  You’re totally right. And my experience is that you have to do that with EVERYTHING realted to a wedding. Already printed your invites? Better stop opening those threads that say “Look at these amazing invites.” Got your color scheme? Stop googling other colors.

My piece of advice for friends now that are close to getting engaged but not yet is to TOTALLY let yourself go wild looking at wedding stuff. I held back because I didn’t want to be *that girl*, and I regret it now, because once you start planning, you have to make acutal choices and need to stop looking after that. I wish I’d done more daydreaming pre-engagement.

That’s a gorgeous, classic, amazing dress & maggie is known for having very flattering and well fitting gowns – it has to be in your size though of course!! If you want a little more structure you could always wear a crinoline slip underneath, that’ll insure that the dress doesn’t look limp. Dress regret is unavoidable, my wedding was over months ago and I still look at these boards sometimes like AHH I WISH I HAD THAT DRESS! You’ll be happy with your choice, trust yourself & stop looking : )

Your pics just showed up as I posted lol. You look beautiful in that gown, I love it!!! I think the ruching will be fine when it’s in your size. They normally measure neckline to hips, so it can be made proportionately. And if there’s any issue that’s what alterations are for. It’s a super flattering dress, don’t have any regrets, seriously!

Did you get it at Brandi’s?  I ask because they have that discount too.  I think you need to trust yourself and know that you will be beautiful.

Yes… I loved my original dress for an outdoor wedding, then i was talked into having a traditional catholic church wedding, so i decided if the location wasnt what i wanted i was going to do it big, my original dress was bought for a beach wedding, my current dress fits right in with traditional and our theme is vintage, but i couldnt be more happier, i LOVE my dress, by the way you look STUNNING< freakin amazing in that dress. I wouldnt change it, but if you are unhappy and it dont really mess with your budget then go for it, your only getting married once (my original dress was on sale for 150 so it didnt hurt my budget, plus i sold it for 200)

Here was my original dress….  Davids Bridal taffeta A-line with beaded lace bust and fitted draped bodice Style: V9458

My new dress: Casablanca 2052

@phishy179:  I am planning to check them out again in a couple months.  I have a bit more time than you do.  I did go in and look around and thought they were very nice there.  I’m glad you are feeling better about your dress!!  Where are you getting married?

@phishy179:  All I can tell you is that I like the dress you chose! I think it’s very flattering and will look great in your size. The corset back willl still pull you in at the waist, it’s why I wanted a dress with a corset back. I love the look of the “dixie” and wish it had been an option waaaay back when I was dress shopping.
