Right after getting engaged, I flew across the country to go wedding dress shopping with my mom and Maid/Matron of Honor. They are both such sweethearts that they could make me feel like a princess in any dress. I felt really pressured to get a dress that day so I could share that special “say yes to the dress” moment with them. I had my eye on sabelle and decedance before we got there. It turns out that my other Bridesmaid or Best Man wore sabelle at her wedding a few months ago. So that was out. And they did not have decedance. They did have prestyn, a similar yet simpler dress. I tried it on and liked it. But now I think I rushed into it. I think it is too simple and I still really like decedence.
Then another little added problem arose. When I got my prestyn dress, it did not fit like the one in the store (even with the corset completely tightened). Anywho, now I’m not sure what to do. Should I sell the first dress and take the $$ loss? Alter it the first dress to fit? Alter the first dress to look more like the 2nd dress? What do you ladies think? Thanks so much!

I don’t think that dress is too simple! Far from it! Maybe you can play it up with some statement jewelery if you’re worrying about it being too simple. Is it a corset back? It’s more cost effective to alter the dress to fit you, BUT if you really feel dress regret you do have time to find another dress. I do think you look great in the dress you have now, though!

That dress is not to simple at all, and looks great on you. Alterations will help with the fit 🙂

That is not a simple dress, it is stunning!
I do not understand however, why a dress was excluded as someone in your bridal party wore it… Thousands of brides wear the same dress! 🙂

Honestly I think the decadence is stunning!!!.. And the other is similar.. But does not compare. I had dress regret too…If you dont love the one you bought and can spend money on the other dress I say do it! Who cares if someone else wore the same one…

Thanks so much everyone for all the advice! I think it is worth it to have the to the dress I had my heart set on. And it’s good to hear that alterations really do make a difference. Thanks again!
