I am very much interested in purchasing a wedding dress from somewhere that will put my money to good use. It’s not that I have anything against regular boutiques, but since I am spending so much money on a dress anyway, why not have it go towards some sort of charity. I’ve looked into the Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC) gown sales, but the only one close to my location is just 6 months before the wedding, which makes me a little nervous just incase I don’t find something I like. I like BABC because my money would be put to help individuals with breast cancer. Does anyone know of any other organizations/stores/events that offer something similar?

Not sure where you live but the Bridal Garden in NYC donates the profits to chilldrens charities. http://www.bridalgarden.org/about.html

You are probably safe waiting for BABC. However, if you don’t find anything there, you would have to order something ASAP so you might want to have a back up ready to go.
I am trying to sell a dress. I really need the money. However, if it doesn’t sell by the end of the year, I will donate it to BABC. Great idea and great organization.

There is a BABC event in my town a little more 6 months before my date. I’ve picked out a dress that is at this point THE dress. When the BABC even comes to town I plan to shop it for something to beat THE dress. If I don’t find it at the BABC event, I’ll head back to the gallery and get my dress. 🙂 I think you’d be good if you waited to buy till the BABC event, but make sure you have a dress you love and ready to order if you don’t find something at the BABC.
