    If they don’t specify black tie, you’re much safer wearing a shorter dress.

    @davinanageleyes if invites don’t say it’s a black tie or formal event, that dress is too formal even if the wedding’s at night. You should wear a cocktail dress

    @davinanageleyes:  Hmm. It’s way too formal for that time of the day. That would be appropriate if the ceremony started in the evening. I think you’re going to have to choose another dress 🙁

    If the wedding is not black tie that dress is definitely too formal.  Go with a cocktail dress instead

    It seems like it’s too fancy for the wedding.  I would only wear that to a very fancy black tie evening wedding.

    Sorry, I think it’s too formal for anything but a black-tie wedding.  Definitely not right for wearing in a church at noon!

    It’s a fabulous dress, but as others have said – far too formal for a predominantly daytime, non black-tie wedding.
