angabe26 :  does read sexy to me at all. Looks totally normal (though feels more beach than church-y but that’s just me). I’d you love it, eff what SIL thinks. She can wear whatever she likes on her wedding day. And stop showing people the dress! That will solve lots of problems.

Doesn’t look sexy to me at all, so you should be fine in it!

It is very pretty and sweet and I think it’s fine for what you’re doing. Not too sexy for church

Its a beautiful dress and you look beautiful in it!

Depending on the church, some catholic priests don’t like dresses that show your shoulders, if it’s a huge issue can you get some type of shawl to wear just for the ceremony? A friend of mine actualy had cap sleeves sewn on that she was then able to remove…

My better half is a traditionl Catholic.  My wedding dress had to be modest and cover my shoulders, arms to the wrists and have a skirt to the ankles plus a veil headcovering.  What does the priest who is marrying you think of the dress?  Some priests are more relaxed than others so it may be a non issue for you.  If the priest finds it a little racy then wear a lace topper for the ceremony and take it off for the reception.

You really do look lovely in the dress and you should wear it and feel confident. Your future SIL can choose her own dress for her own wedding.

This dress is beautiful, I love the lace. I don’t think it’s too sexy at all, and as others have said if you need your shoulders and chest covered for the ceremony you could get a topper or wear a cardigan. Something like this https://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_long-sleeve-tulle-wedding-dress-topper-ow2100 could be tucked under the top so you don’t have to cover up any of the intricate lace.

However, I am wondering, are you actually comfortable in the dress? I ask because the photo you posted of yourself in the dress has you in a position where you appear to be trying to cover up your breasts. If you like the dress you should keep it and ignore what old biddies might think. If you don’t feel comfortable in it you should look for another.
