A-line is the line for this 6′ size 18/20 bride. I said I want a dress that I don’t have to suck in every picture for and they are the ones I’m feeling most comfortable in. I love the first dress you posted, I instantly thought “WOW” I would have never known it was a 20 because it flatters you so well!

azweddingbelle:  I was. I went in looking for allure couture sheath type dresses and the maggie sottero heavily beaded vintage, sheath type dresses. Sadly, I looked like a ho-hum rectangle in those. I tried on the allure c200 and might have loved it if it had the corset back of the marianne, but I again felt like I looked like a rectangle in it. The consultants said that it was 1. because it was too big (I had a 14 in the ms marianne and a 22 in the allure c200), 2. because it did not have a corset.

I think the fit and flare marianne looked best on me, but even though I had never wanted a corset back, it seemed to make a huge difference for me- I looked like I had a waist and I didn’t hate myseld in it. I was just sad that it didn’t have more bling.

I wanted a heavily beaded, vintage dress. Part of me feels like I should buy the marianne, because of the shape, but I so miss the beading. I just looked online at MS Serencia and Aurora, at a friend’s suggestion, but neither has a corset back and the skirts are a bit much- but I loved, loved, loved the tops of them! If one of them had a corset back, I’d probably grab one and make do with the skirt.

Plus, to top it off, I’m looking to buy one off the rack, as my wedding is 1/1/2016- yikes!

Omg,  OP, you look amazing in the dress 1! You’re not size 20, you’re full of crap! Your waist is tiny!  And if yo’re not lying, then it’s the dress for you! Or try something similar with corset structure and well defined waist line and beading  on the bodice,  and you’ll look amazing on your wedding day.

Have you tried a mermaid or fit and flare style?  Alot of people of different sizes look very good in them.  There was one bee recently posting a jaw-dropping dress and she was about your size,  maybe slightly larger.  But girl, she looked amazing!  I’ll try to find the thread for you if i can,  so you see for yourself how good that looks!

I found the thread , it’s by mrsb616, called ” i finally said yes”. If you put her name in the search this is the first thread that pops.  See how great she looks in a mermaid style! You should try too

You look wonderful in the first dress you tried on, as well as the second one. I am also a size 20 and it looks like we have just about the same shape. Here’s the dress I purchased. It’s a Watters WTOO Calypso. Excuse my horrible posture in that picture though haha. Happy dress hunting 🙂

SamAldridgeuk:  That dress is gorgeous. I’d say go with that one or one similar. You look beautiful.
