I really need help in the wedding dress department. My fiancé and I are getting married next spring on Carnival Liberty (shipboard wedding) with approximately 70 guests. I am having terrible luck getting any real or helpful feedback in regard to dresses (from anyone). I really need some feedback because I have tried on two dresses that I kind of like, but honestly I am just not very good at this whole wedding dress thing. Please give me some honest feedback, good or terrible, it would all be helpful! Below are three pics of me in one of the dresses that I have tried on and then one pic of me in a different dress. Please let me know if I am even heading in the right direction for my body type, head size, etc. Thanks fellow bees!

@joneswedding2013: Only because you asked, I’ll give you my honest opinion. They’re too much. You’re beautiful! Simplify the dress and you will shine 🙂

@OrigamiLove: Totally agree. They’re a little over the top for me and I don’t care for the way they look on you.
That being said, I’m a stranger on the internet 😉
BUT I do have to say that you deserve a dress that you ABSOLUTELY LOVE, not settle for a dress you kind of like. Keep looking… you’ll find it.

I really love the top of the first dress on you. It’s georgeous! I also love the bottom! But I don’t like the top and the bottom together. There’s just too much going on. My eyes don’t know where to go. I see too much dress and not enough you.

honesty alert: becuase you asked for it. The first one doesn’t show off your figure, it kind of makes you look boxy and isn’t quite the right cut for you also the top with the sparkels makes is look a little busy.
The second one is getting closer, but I agree with the previous posters, it might be a little much still. I think the top on the second one is spot on! the bottom kind of looks odd with your legs showing but the sides long. Keep going with that kind of top though if you are comfortable in strapless! and find something with a slightly more elegant bottom

I love the first dress!!! It looks beautiful on you!
The second fits you great, but I’m not a fan of the tulle’s messy look.

I agree with PP’s – they’re too much! They overpower you. You are gorgeous – get something that allows you to shine in it!

I agree with the PP that both dresses are a bit over the top.
I looove the first dress except for the lacey addition, especially the added coverage around the neck and sleeves. For some reason it throws off the dress for me. I think without that it would be a gorgeous dress on you.
I would suggest Maggie Sottero Kendra perhaps, similar to the first one without the lace. 🙂

(I hope that I am posting this reply correctly) Thank you ladies for your feedback, I really kind of agree! I want something that is funky and reflective of my style (brooding therapist, who honestly is too amused when comedians make really dirty jokes (hehe!) and my more sensible traditional southern groom). This whole process is much more intimidating than I ever thought that it would be! Thanks for the comments though! Also, if anyone has any suggestions I am all ears!

No worries from me on the honesty front! That is the kind of feedback that I need. I do not want to look foolish up there in front of all those folks I just haven’t figured out how to be me and be a bride.

I think the first one is pretty, but you need something with a more open neckline as it’s kind of boxing you in. Maybe go for a slightly thinner strap. I prefer the second dress on you as it gives you a really great shape and is more balanced, but I think the tulle is too much and that a soft sweetheart neckline might be better suited to your bust.

I have to als chim in..there;s too much going on on the front of these dresses and for some reason it’s not suiting you. I’d return to the store with a friend and try on several very different styles and have your friend take photos.

the first dress looks like 2 dresses put together. classic looking top and trendy looking bottom.

i like the top of the first dress on you so i think you should find something like…

I love the top of the first one, and the bottom of the second one. But I’m not in love with either.
I think you look GREAT in the ball gowny bottom of the second, as well as the drop waist. Sorry I’m not much help lol
