OMG I love the first one on you!  I think the ruffles make it TOTALLY fit with the barn venue!  Get it girl!

I really like the first one – it’s so unusual!

I totally bought your first choice last week for my wedding next summer. I couldn’t stop thinking about it–everything else looked so boring in comparison after I tried it on. So I’m so happy to see another bride choose it because, honestly, it is “unique.” And we can all want to be unique one week and then be terrified the next of it. But after trying it on FIVE TIMES over two months, I realized I wasn’t going to stop thinking about it.

And I’m also having an outdoor, woodsy wedding and think the dress definitely has the whimsy to pull it off in a way the second one does not. The phrase my friend said that sold me on it was that the dress just seems to shout “gay!” And by gay she meant in the 1930’s, happy gay way. And I realized I wanted my wedding to be about happiness and enthusiasm, not about tradition and a million miles of forgetable lace.

P.S. If you want to see the dress in action, check out these wedding photos (not mine, obvs): http://www.lovelybride.com/blog/index.php/2011/06/13/real-wedding-love-sweet-love/ This is the only place, besides this post, where I’ve seen someone else choose that dress.

Congrats and share pictures after it’s all said and done!

@SaraElaine: So glad that was helpful. Like I said, unique can be scary–and I can’t choose a drink at a cafe without immediately thinking I made the wrong choice. I made two different friends go with me two different times when I tried it on–and they pointed out to me that I was comparing every other dress to it as well as unconcously trying to talk both them and the sales lady out of anything else. That’s when I realized I couldn’t deny that feeling of happiness I felt wearing that dress—something I wasn’t getting with any other one. I even chose it over simpler, more traditional ones that were admitedly more flattering; I’m a size 10, so I’m really picky about looking like it’s the dress that’s big and not me. 😉

The dress is the only major decision I’ve made and completed so far, besides the venue. If all the rest of my choices feel half as good, I’ll be satisfied.

The first one is perfect for the venue.  Vintage-looking, chic, but classic.  Number 2 is too heavy I feel.
