The dress looks great on you. That said, I loathe pickups, and do believe they are a trendy look.

First, the shape absolutely doesn’t make you look fat. But, I personally hate pick ups, even when they were in style. However, you are the only one who really has to love it. I do think there are other satin ballgowna that might fit your criteria though.

The dress isnt unflattering on you, but the style of the skirt is very very dated and not a great look. I’m sure you’ll be able to find a dress with the same silloutette with a different satin skirt? That being said if you love it, do you. X

rubyroundhouse :  You look like a bombshell princess. Your figure looks amazing, and it looks like it fits you like a glove. The bead work looks really intricate. That gown looks expensive.

Pick-ups are out of style, but so what? It looks like Belle’s dress from Beauty and the Beast. And pick-ups will come back in eventually. To me, all it means is you won’t see 20 other brides wearing a dress almost identical to yours.

The dress is very flattering on you. Maybe theme your wedding to match the dress (gone with the wind or grand ballroom style) and it won’t look out of date.

I think dated is a really negative way of describing something that is just not the latest trend. That dress is not the latest fashion, but it looks lovely on you!!! I don’t like following trends so I say go for it if you love it.

I think you look lovely.

Honestly, the only people who keep up with bridal fashion trends are those who have been married in the last few years. The majority of your guests will have no idea what’s current in fashion. Working off gender stereotypes here, but 99% of men have no idea about bridal fashion. So about half your guests will definitely have no clue. What percentage of female guests were married recently or helped plan a wedding? 10% or so? So at most 5% of your guests will know that pickups aren’t completely current. And most of them won’t care.

You have a great figure but the dress is not to my taste.

I actually really like this dress I love the color ect but yes it’s dated by about 15 year’s I would say. As the other bees have mentioned that shouldn’t mean not to buy it. It’s really if you love it or not. I was looking at a used satin pinina tornai on a preowned dress site that was yes dated by today’s standards. I ended up finding a new trendier tulle dress that was actually less money that I ended up loving so for me price was the final factor not how dated the dress was/wasn’t. If you do buy it I would offer a lower price than the store is listing it for.

The bodice looks gorgeous on you, but I am another one that has always hated pickups.

It looks beautiful on you. I would say that the style is a little dated but if you love it I don’t think that matters.

rubyroundhouse :  While I love fashion trends, I always thought not choosing a wedding dress because it’s “dated” is silly. Today’s dresses are in style now; were once in style before, and will be out of style in a few years. You’re wearing your dress for you and you only for one day out of your life. If you love it, wear it! To me, the current gown trends are beautiful, but way too girly for me. Mermaid gowns aren’t trendy now, but I purchased a gown that looks great on me, and I’ve received several comments that the gown looks almost too different, or modern, or edgy, even though it’s a design from 2012! Now I love it even more because that’s the look I was after. If you love it, wear it. Chances are you will see that gown style resurface again at least once a decade or so from now. I think the gown is gorgeous on you, and I think the style has a romatic, antique look to it.

Honestly? It looks dated. But your figure looks great in it!
