The second one is gorgeous!! The first one appears to be I’ll fitted at the moment, but once it is fitted it looks like it’ll be just as pretty ๐Ÿ˜†

I did the same thing as you, went dress shopping for first time and bought dress,  ddnt  look at pictures of dress on me and now I look at it and ask myself lots of questions. Agree second dress is pretty but first one might fit ok once altered.

elyse545 :  I really like both on you!

I think the first one suffers from a bad picture, the wrong size and the wrong knickers. I think shapewear and the right size will absolutely fix this for you.

However, if you feel like you will always be too ‘exposed’ in the tummy area on the first dress (and you can afford to) then it may be best to buy the second one. You want to feel comfy on your big day.

Both look lovely! Especially when you have a few alterations done.

I do marginally prefer the second one, but I love the non-Ivory/white dresses!

elyse545 :  I totally get that.

Could you see if you could buy some control undies and go back to the store to try it on again and get more pictures? It might ease your mind a little to know if that’s going to help or not.

I actually think the first dress is more flattering on you. I don’t like the illusion/lacy bodice of the second one.

Shapewear will easily flatten your stomach, plus there might be the option to sew a panel into the dress to help with that. You also have time to minimise bloating in the run up to May.

elyse545 :  well I’m sorry but that first dress does make you look pregnant and the second dress looks comfortable and the shape is more flattering. I wouldn’t stick with a dress that you need to worry about shapewear/diet/sucking in for photos. You want to feel happy and beautiful and worrifree on your big day.

I would do whatever is necessary to switch dress in this instance. I don’t think the second dress is THE dress but something more in that shape would seem like a wise choice.

love the top of the first dress on you, front and back both.  I do think the second dress has a more flattering bottom, but I don’t like the top.  Too bad you can’t just lop them both in half at the waist and Frankenstein them together.

Alterations would surely fix issues with the first one.  A still shot under flourescent lights is never the best thing to base a high-cost decision on – if the people who saw you moving in it say it looked great, take that into consideration.  But from the way the picture is, it looks like the fit problem is in the lace overlay, not the skirt itself, so hopefully altering that – loosening it, whatever would need to be done to let it just flow free – would be quick and inexpensive.

You look great in both dresses, they have a lot of similarities. I have to say the second one is my favorite. I made the same decision and bought the first dress I tried on and hadn’t even gone with the intention to buy- and I too, am feeling like maybe I rushed things and missed out on the “experience”, however, I still am head over heals for my dress.

I have been told my all my previously wed friends that EVERYONE gets cold feet about their dress ๐Ÿ™‚

i LOVE the first dress!!!  It’s my favourite (and not because im trying to make u feel better about it).  I actually realllllly like the design of the back of the first dress so much more than the second one.  Alterations will make a huge difference in making you feel more comfortable!

My dress is supposed to come in this week!! I bought it March 2016, so almost a year ago now! the sample size i tried on was two sizes too small (compared to the size i ordered) and you can definitely see it in the pics of me wearing it… but i have faith!!

elyse545 :  Both are beautiful dresses so I think unless you really dislike your first choice and can swing the $ on the second dress do it for your piece of mind but once the first dress is in your size/fitted/with proper shapewear you’ll be happy to be wearing it on your wedding day. Congrats bee ๐Ÿ™‚
