I went wedding dress shopping for the first time yesterday and I do believe I found THE ONE! So what’s the problem you ask? My mother is paying for it, but it’s 2x as much as she said the budget was. However, she did give the okay, so that part is just me feeling guilty about her paying so much. Next, it goes up $200 on Tuesday! I feel like I tried on every style of dress (10-15) and this one just really popped. I have two fears…
1. I’m not going to find another one I like better and will end up having to pay the extra money.
2. I buy it and find another one I like better for cheaper. (although I probably should stop looking once I buy, I have a feeling I won’t… at least not online).
I’ve been looking online to see if I can find it elsewhere for cheaper and the only thing I’ve found was a chinese place that will do it for under $300. So there’s another question, has anybody used one of those?
Thanks for reading my rant and for any advice any of you have!

Ok, calm down….you found the dress you love, it’s either in your price range, or it isn’t. And when your mother ok’d it, you have to understand that she’s either planning to pay for the difference out of a seperate fund, (her own) or is planning on lowering the budget for something else you may want….talk about that with her and be very clear about where the money is coming from…if you both can live with it, why not? Also, don’t let the bridal salon scare you with limited time only pricing…find out what dress it is, and look in some more rural areas, you might find the same thing for a better price if your willing to take a drive or have it shipped.

@onewhosinz: Don’t rush anything. $200 isn’t THAT much in the scheme of things. Also, I think people have had a lot of success with Jasmine’s Bridal Shop based in China. You should search through the threads here to see examples – there might even be some with your exact dress. Good luck!

Have you tried places like recycledbride.com or preownedweddingdresses.com?
If you are going the replica route, you get what you pay for. Dressilyme.com and Jasminesbridalshop.com are two of the most used and positive reviewed here on the board. I’ve seen a few good ones from fabulousU as well.
Have you called other bridal shops or priced things out on sites like netbride.com?
What’s the style number? Let us help you out!

If you feel guilty about it, just pick up the difference yourself.
