If you’re having it altered by the salon’s seamstress, I would imagine that they would take responsibility for it if mistakes were made.

If it is an instore seamstress employed by the Salon then I would say the Salon is liable. If it is a seamstress recommended but not employed by the Salon then it is the seamstress not Salon who is liable.

A lot of the seamstress attached to Salons are of the recommended variety rather than the employed variety.

I’m not sure, given the lack of details.  If it’s an independent seamstress contracted to the salon, you may be SOL.  I’d have to see what your contracts and receipts said to give a really valid opinion.
