I don’t really see why it’s any worse to have it now than in January?

I ordered my dress in May and it wasn’t supposed to come in until November, got the call today that it was in. It happens. I plan to keep it at my parents house until March

I have mine in my closet. I put it on at least 3 times a week and gush over it.

jfallon:  I got my dress around 10 months before my wedding, so not quite as big a gap as you have, but still significant.

Just pick it up (it should come in a bag) and hang it somewhere out of the sun: a closet, spare room that always has blinds closed, etc. Pull it out 2 or so months before the wedding to try it on and see what you’ll need in terms of alterations.

jfallon:  I mean – you would have to keep it in your closet anyway, wouldn’t you?

Mine came in a month and a half before my wedding, and it’s hanging on my closet door downstairs… what else are you supposed to do with it? 🙂

I got mine like 2 weeks after I ordered it. A year before my wedding. I but it in a garment bag and it’s taking up a large chunk of my closet sadly lol. But eh was depressed a couple weeks ago and put it on and it cheered me up.

Mine came in with about 8 months to spare. The store where I got it from, kept it there for me. I went in and tried it on when it arrived, but after that, we all decided it would be easier and safer at their store until I needed to come for my fittings. Especially since I have a dog at home! Maybe they have an option like this, otherwise, I say take it to a safe place, where it can be stored in a closet away from the sun and any possible damage.

You can purchase a basic garment bag, I purchased one from amazon for $8, then keep in a closest until you are ready for a fitting

jfallon:  Yea I ordered mine and it was supposed to come in end of the year so I am freaking out about it. They said it is in a bag that I can hang in my closet but I live with my fiance so I am worried he will see it, plus I heard you aren’t supposed to hang them because they will stretch out, not to mention I have a puppy that I am afraid will do something to it… and my last fear is smell…You know when you put your winter clothes up and pull them back out they have a smell to them, will my dress smell?

I am trying to see if maybe I can keep it at my dads house. I just don’t know what to do with it!

I’m keeping my dress at the salon, they are holding it for me until it’s time to start alterations.
