I would try on some sashes and add a slip or petticoat. I don’t think the dress looks bad At all.

Kayleycullen92:  I think, based on the corner sort of poking out from the bottom of the dress, that you’re standing on a pedestal?  Given that, that’s quite a bit of extra length.  What about raising the skirt, instead of heming from the bottom?  That would raise that line you don’t like and allow for a fuller slip.  Just a thought.  But I second adding a sash, or at least trying.

All in all though, it’s a very pretty dress.

Kayleycullen92:  Yeah, raising the skirt will give it more of a dropped waist ballgown appearance (with the right slip/petticoat, of course) than an a-line/fit ‘n flare.  If the skirt being poofy is important to you, this should get you there.  πŸ™‚  Good luck!

Kayleycullen92:  Add a petticoat to puff it out more on the bottom and add a sash to draw the focus away from the line if its bothering you.  I think a sash would spice it up more anyway.  Honestly I think the dress is gorgeous, you didn’t make a wrong choice.

I agree with some of the other ladies. The right sash will draw more attention to the top part of the dress (since you don’t like the bottom as much).

And a slip or petticoat wil make the bottom look more full. good luck!

I think it’s very pretty and that a sash would totally change the dynamic of the dress (in a good way!)

The dress is beautiful on you!  Based on your comments though, I would try adding a sash and a mermaid style petty coat.  I added a bolero from Iheartbride (etsy seller) to mine and was so happy with the decision so that could be another option as well.
