Find someone else, but definitively have someone other than Fiance there.

    I would take a friend.

I would either take a friend or if I couldn’t find someone I would ask the sales people at the bridal salon. They were very honest when I asked opinions about the dresses I was trying on.

I went shopping with a combination of people, my Mum, Future Mother-In-Law and Maid/Matron of Honor and then once with my Maid/Matron of Honor and BM’S and also many times by myself. I must admit though it is fun and really nice to share this with people, however, the most productive shopping days were when I was alone.

Its very overwhelming trying to take in other peoples options and I nearly purchased a dress I wasn’t sure about just because everyone else liked it.

I actually found my dress while shopping alone and I LOVE it. So I voted for shop alone. You will have a consultant help guide you along the way. I also think its really special for your Fiance to be surpirsed when he sees you on the day.

Best of luck, happy shopping and you can always ask for the Bees help once you have a few contenders. 🙂

I was in the same situation as you pretty much. My fiance was there, although never was my intention, but he didn’t see me try them on. He sat away while I tried a few on. I went into one store, and found the one I loved.

If I were you I would go by myself, but if you really want you can take your fiance, if you don;t mind the surprise factor out the window. That is really important to some people.

I was in the same situation – I am in Alaska and all my family friends are alllll the way in NY. I “know” people here, but haven’t been here long enough to make good enough friends I’d bring wedding dress shopping!

I was scared to death to go alone — but I did and it was great. I had a great consultatnt, and you know what? I chose what dress I liked the best!

You can always take pictures to send home to your mom if you are stuck.

    Good luck!
