I went wedding dress shopping for the first time yesterday, and I left with no doubt in my mind to which dress I wanted to wear. As the day wore on, I got more and more unsure about my choice, and now I have no freaking idea. Maybe you guys can help me, although probably not because the pictures are from all different angles and half of the dresses were (badly) clipped back so I can’t really even tell for myself.
Gorgeous, empire waist, chiffon, exactly what I was expecting. This one was the one to beat for the rest of the appointment.
This one I tried on just to appease my mother, but I was surprised at how much I liked it. Not going to wear a heavy-ass ballgown to a beach wedding though.
Lukewarm response on this one. I liked that it was chiffon, but that was about all.
This was the first dress that made me sway from #1. My original plan going in was to get a cheap, simple dress and add some beaded appliques I found on etsy and I could totally see myself doing that with this dress.
This one almost made me cry. I wish my friend had stayed in the same place to take this picture, because looking at the picture afterward, I can’t tell what all the fuss was about. The lace on the bodice was lovely, the skirt was elegant and light, and it was the only one of the day that actually zipped up so I could move in it. This was the one I picked, I even rang the bell.
The issue is, they didn’t have the one I wanted to try on and the whole day I felt like a total whale. I have another appointment to try more on. This post is very inconclusive.

You are off to a great start. I love 1, 4, and 5. I might like 4 more than 5 but I agree it may be the angle the picture of 5 was taken at that makes me feel that way. I love the empire waist of one on you. Happy shopping!!
P.s. your hair is faaaabulous.

number 2 is my favourite, but for your venue location I would go with number 4, it just looks so elegant but perfectly suited to the beach at the same time

I love the last one. But if you’re thinking of having beading, I would look for one that is already beaded rather than having it added on afterwards which could end up pretty expensive. Or a thin beaded belt.

I love the first one, especially for a beach wedding. Number 4 would be my second choice, especially for a beach wedding. I don’t think it was a waste of time, it’s got you thinking about what you want.

2 is lovely, but you don’t want that for the beach so you can cross it off. 3 is meh so cross that off too. 4 is pretty but it feels a bit plain and unexciting. So I say keep 1 and 5 in the running, depending whether you want a bit more shape/structure or something super floaty.

Seeing as your asking for opinions ( and I love to volunteer mine) I’ll weigh in here. I like 1 and 4. Number 1 looks so light and sort of ethereal+ your long hair gives it a very romantic vibe. That hair, by the way, is hair that I’d die for!
I love pretty much everything about number 4, particularly the way it sits on your figure. That slightly raised waistline suits you. That bodice is super elegant. It would be dreamy on a beach. It is similar to number 5 but the slightly different prportions seem to work better for your figure.
You look far more Princess Bride than Whale! Be sure to tryon the one you really want to tryon. It might be THE one…but if not then I think either 1 or 4 would still wow your guests.

Number 4 is the most flattering on you. Keep it as is though. I wouldn’t go adding appliqués etc to that elegant design.
Number one suits you very well especially with your hair styled as it is in that photo. It’s very bo ho and almost old fashioned fairytale.
so bo-ho romantic for dress one. Elegant and stylish for four.
Dress 2 is too generic for me. Doesn’t stand out in any way
dress 3 looks dated
dress 5 doesn’t flatter as well as the others.

Number one looks AMAZING on you and looks like a dream dress. The others to me, although pretty, are a little more common. I feel like I see them on many brides. Although none of them are unflattering, I think number one is most flattering, but go with which one makes you feel beautiful.

TeacupSeahorse : the ballgown was by far the best on you. skip the empire waist – empire wist dresses look like either you’re a bridesmaid or trying to hide a pregnancy. you clearly have a nice figure, wear something more fitted, at least in the bodice!

May I ask what style dress number 2 is? I love it!
Definitely not the empire waist! I love the top of the ball gown on you, but voted 5 since I know you don’t want a ball gown!

1 is so ethereal and dreamy! 5 was a close second for me, then 4. 2 and 3 did nothing for me. That said, you look gorgeous in all of them.
