this is exactly what I did  and I would do the same thing again . No dress regret, either!

I did and it was great.  And all the saleswomen said it was really the best way to find the gown I liked best.  They were all super helpful. I usually went in the middle of the day during a weekday, so it was just me or just me and a few other people in the store.  I think it may have been overwhelming to go alone on a crowded weekend day.

I did! I hate shopping with other people. Shortly after I got engaged, I got sick of looking at dresses online without knowing which shapes looked good on me, so I ran over to the David’s Bridal near my office one day after work. It helped a lot. I thought I would wear a ball gown but immediately decided I would feel suffocated. It didn’t take very long to narrow things down and I didn’t have to even leave the dressing room. It was great. Then, a month or two later, I brought my mom and sister and we layed the “oh, is it the one!” game.

I say you are the one that has to love and feel good in your dress, so best to keep opinions at bay as much as possible.

I went dress shopping alone and narrowed it down to two dresses. One looked better and one was really really soft. I shared pictures with a few family members and friends and decided on the one that looked better. I was buying it from a woman who sells wedding dresses out of her home, so that was the actual dress I was buying. My mom was up a few weeks later and went with me to buy it. I really enjoyed doing it this way.

I went alone twice already, going alone again tomorrow, and going alone 2 times next week. I actually prefer going alone! I went the first 4 times with other people with me and it honestly made it more confusing!

I was alone when I bought my wedding dress. Technically finding it was an accident. My wedding dress was actually a floor length white evening gown. I discovered it in a store in the mall while looking for a formal dress to wear to another function.

I was planning on ‘officially’ shopping for my dress alone though. My reason was this would actually be my ‘second’ dress. For my first dress, I was pressured into it and immediately regretted it. So I knew that when I picked this dress out, I wanted no outside influences.

I went wedding dress shopping once and did it alone!  I had a very small wedding with just a handful of guests.  All of my family and most of my friends are across the country.  I also like shopping on my own.  I went to a David’s Bridal and had a dozen dresses picked out on my phone to try on.  Luckily they had most of them and the lady who was helping me was really great.  I chose a dress quickly and went on my way.  I should add that I am an extremely decisive person, so I think that is why this worked so well.

When some of my friends found out that I went alone they said that they thought that was really sad and blah blah blah.  I explained to them that I did not find it to be sad and that I was happy with my experience.  Being that I did not have what most consider a “traditional” wedding I got a lot of this during my whole planning process, not just with the dress.

evie24 :  My first appointment was with a friend who didn’t know what she was doing, and wasn’t very helpful. The second time I took another friend who was engaged and had already shopped for her dress. Her opinions were a little too vocal for my taste. I ended up enjoying the appointments i went to alone more because the staff was there to listen and very supportive. I don’t have anything against going shopping alone, the staff kind of becomes your little family while you’re there. Take lots of pictures (ask the staff, because the selfies just dont do justice) and send them along to your family if you want to keep them looped to the appointment.

My best friend went alone the first time and sent pictures during that visit. It is completely fine to go alone, and if you need advice or struggling with some of the choices, pics always work!!

I went wedding dress shopping alone.  To me buying a dress was very emotional and I think it was best for me to go alone so I could think about what was best.
