- Wedding: August 2013
I am getting married in August and NEED to get my dress by the end of this month. I know I’m kind of late, but i have been DREADING going dress shopping seeing as I am very uncomfortable with my body. My mom and I went to davids bridal where I tried on about 10 dresses which none of them worked out. I am by no means a size two (the bride trying on dresses next to me was though) try like size 16 and only 5′ short. I love looking at dresses, but not on myself. I feel discouraged by going to db first to look at dresses. (I’m not saying don’t go to db, I had great service and my consultant was very helpful) but I am looking for a lace, A-line, style, kinda blingy, vintage feel. We are getting married outside under some beatiful oak trees in the pasture and having a barn reception. I took the dress shoppin as a sort of positive thing because I found out what I did like and what I don’t like on myself. We plan on going to some boutiques this week and am hoping to find THE dress. I just feel so discouraged that I won’t find a dress that I love. At this point I am debating if I should just wear my nursing scrubs down the aisle (haha). I don’t know if it was my awkward figure, total shock and pressure of finding a dress, or standing next to the size 2 model while my back fat oozed out of the dresses, but I hope that the shopping goes a little smoother next time.
