hi, so I went dress shopping this weekend and tried on some gorgeous dresses. The problem was that some of them were too small and the lady told me to try them on anyway. One was two sizes too small! That was Friday and I still have backache and my ribs hurt. Did anyone else have this when they tried dresses on? Was I just unlucky? i know I do tend to worry about everything far too much but I honestly never thought I would ache afterwards

I did not have that problem! I would just be more firm on your next shopping trip! There are THOUSANDS of dresses out there, you can absolutly find one without having to hurt yourself!

I did, after my first experience, I went to 2 shops and tried on 15 dresses in the first shop alone! The next day my ribs were so sore! It lasted for a few days then went, funny thing is I never felt like I was being squeezed into any of the dresses! I didn’t have the roblem when I went to 2 shops on my second time shopping!

When they put you into those dresses they do them up TIGHT! The dresses that I tried on were either the correct size or too big so when they clamped those around me it did hurt. I might have looked good but I felt like a stuffed sausage.

I went to a local boutique that has great reviews. All of their dresses are larger & since I’m a size 4, they had pool noodles to stick in the back of it so it would fit me properly. Did you go to a big store or local?

if it makes you feel better, i got stuck in a dress… lol
we were sliding it off over my head and it was caught on something. i stood in the dresing room like a big ball of tulle for like 10 minutes until they realized they hadnt undone the inner corset.
good thing i wasnt claustrophobic.
also, that tulle trap ended up being “THE” Dress.
you do want to be comfortable on your day. im not sure how youd be able to judge that though if your ribs hurt and you are being squeezed into dresses that just dont fit.
keep trying. good luck.

hi, yes I am a 14 and was put in a 10. I was told that it was ok and it was normal because it is just to see what it looks like on and obviously the dress will be correctly sized on the day. It was such a shame because although you will probably all think I am a wuss, I hate being uncomfortable. It actually upsets me and they really do pinch you in. I am glad I am not the only one but it does make me worry how uncomfortable the dress might be on the day now! I have deliberately picked one that doesn’t have boning in though so it is more comfortable. I never realised before how much I appreciate being comfortable lol x
