I wore a white thong and brought my strapless, nude bra. Also bring shoes with a heel close to the size you think your wedding shoes heel will be.

Good luck! Post pics! :).

OH…and big tip: always ask them how the dress will look bustled. I threw out two dresses simply because when they were bustled (which is how the dress will be for the majority of my wedding day since I won’t be changing into a second dress), they looked silly.

I would recommend not wearing a thong only because you’ll be undressed in front of store assistants and whoever you bring with you. Definitely wear a strapless bra.

I brought heels to one appointment and they didn’t have me wear them. I didn’t bring them to a second appointment and they had me try on some of the store’s shoes, so I would say bring them.

If you know that you’ll want your hair up then I would bring a hair clip just to get it out of the way.

If you’re wearing a heirloom veil, I’d probably bring it to color match.

@Zusie:  Good point about the no-thong. I’m not bashful…like…at all. Haha. So that didn’t even occur to me. I also was trying on a few tight dresses that I didn’t want to think about my underwear being seen through tho too.

If you already have the jewelry, bring them too, to see if they match the bling on the dresses.

@madteaparty:  Umm how about grey? The pattern should be okay if it’s a thong or if the dresses you try on have thick material to where it isn’t going to show. I just didn’t want to risk it with full booty underwear, and was glad I didn’t because one of the dresses was silk and kind of thin. Any pics I would’ve took would’ve been a panty line party.

@madteaparty: Eeek! I’m the same way. I wore hot pink lace panties when I tried on dresses and they were DEFINITELY visible under some up the dresses. (Not all but some.) I just don’t really have white or nude undies. The lady even commented on them, saying they were “sooo cute!” I didn’t really care but it was a little distracting.  If you have the time and you’re worried about it, you may want to pick up a pair of plain nude ones… or if you don’t care, it’s not a big deal.

Not undergarment related, but the first thing I thought when I saw the post title was GRANOLA BAR. Lol

I tend to get a little “hangry” while shopping, so a little fuel to revive me was a must while dress shopping Smile

If you are considering wearing nonstapless dresses I would also bring a regular bra. My regular bras are lower cut than my strapless one, so it was easier to try on the nonstrapless lowcut dresses with my regular bra (my strapless would have shown in some of the nonstrapless dresses). Also if you plan on wearing shapewear and already own it you should bring that too.

a strapless bra

camera- so you can remember what the dresses looked like if they let you take pictures.

photos of dresses you like/are interested in trying on

I’d also say no to the thong. At david’s bridal it was so awarkward to be standing there with a stranger in the dressing room helping me put it on while im in a tiny thong. Also, unless you are planning on a clingy silk dress, most are thick enough that you can’t tell. Even just a pair of seamless panties are fine.
