- Wedding: May 2013
I need help! I haven’t purchased a wedding gown yet, and the wedding is either going to be in March or May (still not set in stone yet), so it isn’t too far off. It seems when I come across a dress I really like, the person either doesn’t get back to me, it’s sold, not affordable, returns aren’t accepted, or it’s the wrong size and cannot be altered to my size. I tried dresses on at David’s Bridal, but didn’t really find “the one” dress, and I’m pretty picky.
I came across my “dream dress” on preownedweddingdress.com: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/view/33260/Essense-of-Australia-D957-Size-2.html
Her measurements though are smaller than mine, I’m about 37, 27, and 37, and was told by a seamstree not to get it altered, that it would not look right. That dress really fits my taste, and my theme. I decided I wanted a rather “Elvish” theme, so for any of you who watched Lord of the Rings, you may remember the Elvish women an what they wore: the long, flowy, but fitted dresses. So you can imagine my disappointment when I find what I really want, and then that doesn’t work out either.
I’m looking for a dress with that shape: A-line, but fitted and flowing, a corset back, sweetheart neckline, train, beading, and organza or some other sheer overlay. If any of you can suggest to me dresses or find some like that or even that one (though it’s very hard to find, almost non-existant) that would be great. I really am in need of help!! It’s stressful searching tediously, to find something, and it doesn’t work out. Again. And my wedding is not next year or something where I have a lot of time to think about it; it’s right around the corner. So, sorry if I annoyed you with my rant, I’m just in need of help to find the near “perfect” dress, or in other words my dream dress! If I could get help that would be appreciated!! Thanks!!!
