Hello Ladies and Fellow WeddingBees!
I am newly engaged and am super excited to be marrying the man of my dreams, but what I am not excited about is dress shopping… 🙁
Problem is is that i dont know what kinda of bride I want to be… maybe you other Brides and Brides-to-be can give me pointers.
Here is a little about me…
-I’m 25 yrs old, living in Canada… but Getting married in sunny Mexico.
-i’m not Girly but still wanna be stunning on my wedding.
-I dont like too much detail (as in beading) but want a wow factor… whether its a belt or whatever
-I want style that no one has really seen before
-I’m a smaller girl. 5’3″ and wear a size 2
-I recently tried on Mikaella 1564 and CRIED!!! I loved it… only when i saw my moms photos she took of me in the dress… i was almost disgusted… the pictures were not the same as what i saw in the mirror. I’ve liked a few other poufy dresses like this but also cant stop thinking that since i’m going desination… and i’m not girly, that i should go with something a little more fitted to show my shape like the watters sydney
Maybe I’m over thinking things, but ladies… I am Stressed out! LOL
Sincerely Unfitted… <3

Why don’t you figure out what “style” of wedding you want first, which will help decide what kind of dress you might want to get and then start to choose. Don’t let one bad experience get you down!

You just have to keep trying them on until you find the one. Try on every style and every shape and every material. You will find it. The one that I ended up with is the total oposite of what I thought that I wanted. I do recommend taking pictures and even sneaking them when they don’t allow it. I also thought I had found the “one” until I looked at the picture. I looked like one giant square. I also was crushed. Your dress is out there, promise.
Welcome to the Hive!

Just try as many dresses as you can, i am sure you can find the one you love most. If you want to be stunning on your wedding, you need efforts to find the most gogerous dress, and it’s definitely worth it, so just go fot it and i am sure the right one is there waiting for you!

Just get out thier and try on dresses…. after looking a bit you should narrow down what you like on you and what fits your style and personality. Good Luck!

I’m not really sure what kind of dress would suit you best, but I have a related piece of advice. I was like you when I first started looking at dresses – I didn’t have any clear concept of what I wanted, I liked a variety of things, and it was hard to decide. After I’d done an initial round of dress shopping, we ended up pushing back our wedding date about 8 months, so I didn’t go dress shopping again until 6 months later. The second round I did … I liked COMPLETELY different styles. It was almost as if I’d needed time for the other dresses to sink in and for me to change my mind. This is totally personal, and might not be applicable to you AT ALL, but since you have a decent amount of time until your wedding, I would suggest trying on a bunch of stuff now, waiting a couple months (during that time I looked at lots of bridal magazines), and then trying again. You may surprise yourself and realize that you developed a preference. Good luck!

And don’t commit to anything without thinking about it first!! 😀
