I got my Davinchi for $640.  I found that many of the gowns I tried on in my particular bridal shop were in the 600-1000 range.

I bought a bridesmaid dress in ivory, and that was the best decision!  The shop (an Impressions Bridal retailer) had the same exact style for brides, but buying the “bridesmaid version” saved me hundreds of dollars!!  I got the dress about a week ago, and with the ivory color and taffeta material, it looks every inch of a wedding dress! 🙂

Ever thought of buying a sample dress? Those are usually A LOT cheaper, and they only come in one size.

Try finding dresses you like, hopefully try on locally (or something very very similar in cut!), then checking the following sources:  bestbridalprices.com, NetBride, and plussizebridal.com ….   when I was looking at other, higher priced brands before I got my dress on ebay, those 3 consistently had the best prices. ESPECIALLY NetBride, but you have to email them for quotes.  I sent for several quotes and they were beating every price by hundreds of dollars in my situation.

Plussizebridal sells regular sizes too, and for example, the first dress I thought I wanted was $1000 everywhere else (even bestbridalprices) and Plussizebridal had it for $620.  But bestbridalprices has more reviews and info online and they will price match plus 5% off!  So they will meet the price of plussizebridal, for example.  All three sites I mentioned have good reputations too.  There’s one out there that is bestdressprices or something and is a knockoff site so be careful not to confuse the two.

Don’t forget ebay.  I used to sell on ebay and it was definitely a “seller’s market” back then, but even then I never could get much for a wedding dress. I sold my own (1st wedding that never happened) new with tags for only $75 a few years back, and I just bought my dress a couple weeks ago on ebay for $76 plus shipping!!! And it’s a current david’s bridal style selling for $600 in the stores and $200 or 300 on the used dress sites!

Point is, ebay has kind of gone to the dogs if you are a seller but this means there are plenty of bargains to be had there also.  I recently also purchased a faux fur cropped coat (to go with my dress, since it will be cold when I get married) for $2!!  Shipping was six bucks.  Total cost $8 and it arrived today and looks brand new!

Another thing to think about is looking at a consignment store, or trying on dresses locally but then looking for the style you like online from another bride.  That can seriously lower the cost, while still allowing you to have a higher end dress.

Casablanca has some in that range. Another option: Go to a trunk show. They will sell the dress to you (sometimes at a significant discount) right there on the spot.

Anne, Jasmine is in your price range. I found this one for $684 at a salon…I called pearls place to get their price and it was only $503 there.  A lot of brides find the dress they like, then call pearl’s place for a quote because they are usually much lower.

Jasmine Bridal has beautiful, affordable dresses. Mine was right around $650. Also, I tried some dresses by Private Label by G that were even more affordable! Like $425 affordable.

I have a Joli Bridal dress that cost about $600 new. I’m not sure if you’re in northern VA or not, but if you are I Do I Do in Gaithersburg, MD has a lot of cheaper brands (including Alfred Angelo), as well as consignment dresses. I went in there and said I didn’t want to spend more than $600, and tried on a ton of stuff in my price range.

I bought a new Maggie Sottero gown  for just under $600 from a local bridal boutique. Her line seemed to have dresses in this price range, as well as much more expensive dresses.
