I think beading is waaaaaaay overrated… but then again, I’m also not a big fan of lace, ruffles, ruching or any of that sparkly crap that so many wedding dresses are covered in. Put me in clean, simple lines and I’m a happy camper.

My dress had this beaded detail at the waist and I actually tried to have it taken off b/c I would have rather had no beading….so if you prefer no beading go with it!!

I think the biggest reason people feel the need to have beading because it is usually the one time in your life you can have beading, and sequins and not be weird (well, prom does not count!). But I don’t have a beaded dress and I love it. It’s the elizabeth fillmore starlet. And I don’t have a picture. Because I am lazy

I hate beading…but my gown has beading, and for some reason I loved it anyway!

All the dresses that I’m serious about are bead-less. I totally agree with what others have said: it’s easier and more fulfilling to accessorize, the lines are more clean, and – imho – beading tends to look a little cheap.

i’m not a fan of beading either it’s so well common?! if that’s the proper word (i don’t think so but i am brain dead) now give a gal some ruching a broach ruffles or something like that and i’m in a state of nirvana…

I don’t think I tried on a single dress with beading and I tried on a lot of dresses.  I personally don’t care for the look of it, especially for daytime weddings, but I know plenty of brides love beaded dresses and rock them, they just weren’t my style.  I think there are so many other ways to add to your dress…as someone else mentioned jewelry, hair accessories, etc…If you like the non-beaded one more go for it. It’s about what you love, not what the “industry” is selling you on how something should look/be for YOUR day.

I had a Manual Mota for Pronovias dress with no beading, no lace….just dupioni silk with some flowers and I LOVED it.

every wedding I have ever been to the bride wore a dress with beading and I never understood the appeal. i absolutely love my dress and it has absolutely nothing sparkly! for the reception i am adding some type of pearly statement necklace…its going to be so easy to accessorize.

I’m another girl whose dress has absolutely no embellishments. I bought it last Friday — hurrah — and while I tried on a lot of dresses with various beading and what not, it just didn’t work.

Plus, I feel a bit like beading can restrict your choices in making your dress your own. My dress is beautiful by itself, but I have more freedom when it comes to accessorising precisely because it’s quite a blank slate. And that appeals to my creativity!
