What do you do once you make your entrance into the reception? It seems kind of a big build up-all the music and announcements of bridal party ect to then go straight into eating?
What is everyone elses plan?

Dh stood on the dance floor and made a thank you speech, then he asked for a moment alone with his wife on the dance floor and we had our first dance 🙂 It was cute and the first time he called me his wife.

I think we are going to cut the cake right after we come in. I find that it often gets lost later in the night.

We’ll be going right into our first dance after we’re announced.

@mwitter80:SHUT UP! That’s so sweet! And a great transition into the first dance…I’m going to make Fiance do this…LOL

I really like the idea of doing the first dance right after the entrance. They did that at a wedding I was in this summer and it just flowed really well. (Wedding party entered and lined up along the edge of the dance floor, couple entered, started the dance, and we joined in after about a minute.)
^PPs husband making the speech is so cute! Much better than a DJ announcement.
We’re not having one, though! We’re just showing up to the cocktail hour – no song and dance. I think people will still stop and pay attention. 😛

I love the idea of the thank you speech- but I don’t know if I am feeling having the first dance before the dinner. I think we might do announcment-speech-prayer-food then continue on with the night.. What do you think?
